Went to a new bar in town. They poured Guinness the correct way. They get a thumbs up and future business.

Which bar? All the places I go either pour it wrong, charge $7/pint, or lose their liquor license for trying to sell booze under the table.

The bar is Cypress street Pints and Plates. Its where Toast used to be, midtown area.  An older crowd(late 30's thru late 40's) was there on friday but i heard it was younger(late 20's) on Saturday. They know how to pour Guinness at the Local on ponce also. At least the bar tender that was there the last couple of times was able to do so.

A non-threatening appreciative comment would probably not get taken so badly.  Things like "Nice hat", "I like your dress", "Great shirt!" and other expanded versions thereof are all fairly non-sexual and a lot less creepy.  Sexual comments from someone we don't know from a bar of soap are generally a bad idea.  Unless you've been talking to Jamie outside this forum it's the equivalent of walking up to someone on the street and saying "my word, you are looking sexy today!"  Some people will appreciate it, others will call you a creep and walk away quickly.

I was referring to Est's assessment of Something Witty. I am also curious as to how or why age has anything to do with how mature someone is? I was not actually referring to anyone in particular when I made the "grow up" statement. It seems this board is infested with people who are afraid to speak their mind. "Oh, it's OK to say "nice hat" or "you look good today" but if you say something you actually WANT to say you are "creepy"."

Well, some of us are Martens, and some of us are Svens I guess. When I see someone I appreciate, I say so, instead of walking all around the subject. If they think it is "creepy" and run away that is great, that saves me from having to deal with an immature person.

Mostly I was just offended by the way Est treated Something Witty. I mean, SWitty's comment was not even mildly offensive. I thought it was kind of cute actually. Est, I believe in the African-American vernacular you would be referred to as a "playa hater".

Oh, and Tommydski, were you going for "funny" with that comment? Because it came across more as "I was oxygen deprived for a length of time sufficient to cause massive brain damage". Just curious.

If SWitty had any problems with what est said, he would have either said so, or PM'd est to let him know that he didn't appreciate it. As far as we knowhe seemed fine with it; even going so far as making jokes about it.

Compliments are all fine and dandy, but overly sexual ones can cause people to feel uncomfortable. I, for one, have gooten really awkward after someone has said stuff like how sexy I am and how much they like to see my photos, to the degree that I almost wanted to take down all the photos I have put up.

That's such a nice sweeping generalisation from somebody who has been posting only in the general discussion forum for the duration of their stay. It's also completely and totally incorrect. Nobody here is afraid to speak their mind, we're just intelligent enough to know when it is and isn't appropriate. We're able to do it without resorting to insults such as "You're pathetic" to make our point.
I happen to like the Steve Buscemi thing that Doombilly has going on. I think he pulls it off great, it suits him. This doesn't mean I want to sleep with him. I totally did not appreciate the creepy. I disappear from the forums, come back to assure you guys that I am indeed still alive, and some guy I do not even know, let alone, have no even spoken to EVER, thinks it is a good idea to get all fucking creepy all of a sudden.
