I'm just amazed that despite several requests from several people that this thread die, people insist on bumping it, especially with posts as useless as making rape jokes expressly to be contrary, then going for obvious mockery just to be douchey. It's not that you're doing it to me, it's that you're doing it at all.

I think Katie put it best.

Jesus people, if you don't like the thread then stop fucking posting in it. You know what? I'm not gonna lock it, because I shouldn't fucking have to. I'm not your damn baby-sitter. If you don't like the bloody thing then stop bumping it and let it die a natural death, instead of posting in it to bring it all the way back up to the top of the page again, just so that you can complain about how much you hate it.

And yes, do as I say, not as I do.

This would be probably the single trickiest forum to moderate that I've run across due to the entrenched user base and the relative lack of central themes. Plus, there's the universal problem that I've seen across internet forums everywhere: The people that have enough free time to really stick it out and vigilantly watch a forum are often the very same people who post roughly 20 topics and 5 new polls a day in a desperate bid for attention if given the chance.

This forum is in dire need of some mods, so I propose we institute some new ones right away.
This is the first time in a while that I've seen some serious out-of-hand conversations. I mean, we're arguing about the validity of scientology and its church.
I know we all hate that Johnny C, but he is around here too often to not be lending a hand. Tommy already has the social moderation down, he just needs the banhammer. We have quite a few people who would be excellent moderators.

Inlander is an excellent mod. We just need more. This is a rather large forum to moderate all by his lonesome. Personally, I think there should be at least 3 more - maybe IF NEEDED one to get the top two forums (you know, the ones no one ever goes to), but definitely one for music, and two to split up arts & crafts, comics & drawing, and computer stuff, as well all three helping around in fish if needed.

But as for what Inlander said earlier, he shouldn't have to babysit us. When every other post is a plea for the thread to die, let it effing DIE.

Calm down folks. You all seem to be talking like we're in some sort of state of great decay, we're not. The forums are nice and healthy, certainly better than they have been in the past. An extra mod or two would be nice, maybe take a little pressure of Harry, but we're largely a self moderating forum. It doesn't take very long for people to get in line around here. When trouble is occuring, pay attention to which prominent board members are not posting in that thread, and take note. Be more like them.

Kieffer used to be a mod, MusicScribbles. Jeph made him a mod back when he was SeanBateman, but then he kept going on trolling streaks and finally Jeph took him off and he "quit the internet" for a while, as he is apt to do (he is doing it right now, in fact).

If I were a mod, I would ban the author of the fifth thread from the top every Monday morning when I pop in from work for the next week (Counting any stickied threads).

I would periodically change random forumites names, mostly to puns.

I would edit all posts in the video game forum concerning Final Fantasy VII or Halo to be nothing but Bon Jovi lyrics.

I would ban myself for a week every six months for just being too sexy for the forum.

I would ban anyone whose avatar I didn't care for until they were able to submit to me an avatar I approved of.

I would ban anyone who I feel would get in the way of my survival in the event of a zombie holocaust.

New Addition: I would periodically edit the most recent image in the photo thread at any given time into a picture of an isopod.

These are not campaign promises people, these are innevitabilities. I will be the Governer fucking Tarkin of QC.

Crap, anyone who's been here past 3000 posts and still visits the forums often should be a candidate for moderator.

Post count should not be a factor. There are forumites who have been around longer than I have and have less posts, but they are better. Besides, there are those people who could rack up 3000 posts in a few months, while I have yet to hit 3000 and have been around for just about 2 years. We do not want one of those people to be considered for mod. The world would end. Just like it would if Jon were mod, though at least it would be an amusing apocalypse.

This man has my endorsement for the election to President of the Internets... if such an office even exists.  Even then, I'm not much of a person to endorse a guy... being a lurker for most of the time.

Also, the first two pages of this thread made me want to offend EVERYONE just for the irony.
