A sense of melody... yeah, that must be it.
Next topic: Why are blacks so good at rap?
That was actually pretty sweet.
In any case, you've taken my comment and question the wrong way (it wasn't really serious). But it just to happens that:
1. There is a strong instrumental rock market over there
2. Virtuosity has never really been lost on the weaboo music market since they got addicted to metal
3. ASIANS ARE REALLY FUCKING GOOD AT GUITAR ARE YOU DEAF OH GOD
I personally find it interesting that they have a very specific flavour of melody that is so very, very different from western music despite the huge influence that the USA has had on them. If you listen, you'll find it evident that, at the very least, the lack of a largely developed blues presence during the development of their rock and metal means that instead of transitioning between notes with slurs, they'll take a more defined approach. Probably emphasised since their language takes the same approach.
Also, the fact that their rock and metal isn't a product of the regular bluesy and jazzy influences as much as its a result of more contemporary influences means that, just like their industry in general, they skipped a beat when it comes to their musical development and thus naturally lean towards a certain style of melodic content.
Next topic: why were black people in the 1800s so good at blues music?
Because the culture and conditions were perfect for it(I know that it's not strictly true, but it's ridiculous how quickly people jump to conclusions)
Okay, now that I've covered myself, anyone else who wants to be smart can wast their time elsewhere; I didn't start this topic to lay down absolutes, but I did start it to offer some observations and possibly, if we can take a joke and not imply ridiculous things about other forum members, discuss nerdy Japanese music.
(I am fully aware of which posts were jokingly made, thank you for your humour)
ITT Herman Ri shits on your head.
