I'm going to ATP: New York in September. Here is the line-up. It's a three day festival and it's a few days after the Monolith festival (2 days with lots of stairs), so it'll be a challenge to stand up.

I'm also going to see Future of the Left/Ted Leo/Against Me! October 21st.

Nick Cave – Oct 2nd, $31 The Metropolis

I saw Nick Cave on a solo tour, with the Grinderman line-up. Second loudest gig I've been to and the motherfucker didn't even have a guitar in the group.

I went to see What Made Milwaukee Famous last night. It was refreshing to see some guys who were just playing good rock music and having some fun on stage.

I loved WMMF in concert.  Saw them at the North Star Bar in Philly a few months ago.  You're right, they were so natural up there, and the harmonies were unbelievable.  Definitely an awesome show.

So I basically just got into Tokyo Police Club but I'm digging how much they rock out (especially how the vocalist can go from delicate "The Weakerthans" mode to scratchy, Is This It-era "The Strokes" singing and back in the space of 30 seconds). And I found out they are coming to Austin in a month. Anyone seen them live? Are they not at least not terrible (for $14, I'm not going to hold out for "absolutely amazing," although that would be nice too)?

Man Radiohead put on a good show when I went to see them in May. I just had a big exam a few days before so it was nice to unwind with that concert.

Unexpected awesome local gig!

So it turns out I don't really like Elephant Shell all that much (I was listening to A Lesson in Crime when I thought "this is the fuggin' cat's pajamas") so I doubt I will wind up going to Tokyo Police Club.

But still! Cut Copy! I maintain hope that the crowd will make it worthwhile.

Aesop Rock - tuesday in Philly
(hopefully) Finntroll - saturday in Philly  (or friday in northern VA)
Carcass is coming soon to Baltimore, Oct if I recall correctly.
Nightwish at the end of September
Opeth is gonna be here in Baltimore
Amorphis in northern VA
Obituary is playing at some point in Baltimore.

Lastly (well, two different shows)
Children of Bodom are playing here, in Baltimore, which is excellent.
and
Amon Amarth is touring with Ensiferum... which could make it the most EPIC show ever in the history of epic.  I don't think the Troc in Philly can handle that much epic in one night.

Yessssssssss!!

I may not be going to ACL but I scored tickets to Okkervil River's after-show with Man Man and some other band I don't know!

I am so pumped for that weekend (the show's on Saturday, and Cut Copy is on the following Monday) you guys don't even know. I could try to make you understand but it would blow your mind.

If it makes you any less jealous, he's not going to the ATP England which had a 10,000,000x better line-up (thanks to mother-fuckin' EitS curating).

So... I was going to go to Sunset Junction day 1 which featured among others, Menomena, Broken Social Scene, Castledoor, radars to the sky, and others

but somebody went and planned a birthday party for me on that day.

I'm kinda really upset.

Um, I don't like being called a bitch jokingly or not, from someone I don't know at all.

I'm happy with the line up, personally. For most of the bands that are playing, I probably will never get the opportunity to see otherwise.

To add to my concert going list, I'm going to see Al Green at the Botanical Gardens at the end of the month.

yes. Excellent show. Their album is so so, but it really comes out well live. At least, I thought so.

There's a couple more I want to go to, but money is running dry.

This Saturday at the Schlafly Tap Room parking lot there is a FREE mini festival going on. 4:00-1:30.

So Many Dynamos, Earthworms, ton of other bands.

By the way, the Pretty & Nice, Hyperbubble show was awesome. I had no Idea that the singer for The Sudden Passion was also the singer for the Femme Fatality until they started playing.

Unfortunately, The Makeshift Gentlemen seemed hokey. Their songs included overly obvious and heavy-handed lyrics referencing such movies as: Mystery Men, Wild Wild West, and Clockwork Orange. When they started a song by shouting "Are you ready for some ultra-violence," I went to the bar.

Otherwise, the show was fantastic.

The Mountain Goats are so so amazing live. Possibly my favorite show, ever.

Anyway I'm seeing the Silver Jews on the 30th. Okkervil River is coming to town in October but I'm supposed to go to Richmond that weekend and the show is on a Thursday so I could do it but my boyfriend has this crazy idea of leaving Thursday night and driving all night. Plus I need a car to get to this venue. But fucking hell, it's Okkervil River. I'm going to have to negotiate these plans a little more (he seriously underestimates my love for this band, "all your music sounds the same").
