KREATOR with support EXODUS

Next April though....

Rosetta and Broken Social Scene are both playing here in November. Though I doubt I could go...  :(
Man... I dunno, Atrocity exhibit was pretty shit, have they been playing much of that in shows?

Dunno, I'm mainly going for Kreator though. Fuckin' Mille Petrozza.

My neck will be very stiff the day after I think.

I hope Exodus plays some older stuff though...that would be awesome.

Oh, and Belphegor, Warbringer and Epicurean will also be playing I guess.

Amon Amarth, with Ensiferum playing in Philly this sunday!

Heres (doubtfully) hoping that they brought their Viking longship stage that they built for Summerbreeze festival last year.  (Id assume it would be destroyed though, it was pretty fucking big)

I saw the Elephant 6 Holiday Special last night.

I was going to go to the one in NYC. I decided not to last minute. Then Jeff fucking Mangum was there and sang/played along on a bunch of songs. I hate my life.

Black Kids are playing MTL tomorrow night but its sold out, so I dont get to go...  Bummer hey?

You dodged a bullet.  The Virgins were opening, and based on former experiences, they are the worst live band in existence.  Complete trash.  Even if I found Black Kids remotely appealing, The Virgins' presence would have been enough to keep me away from the show.

I heard my name!

I guess I'd be up for a show as long as it's not hiphop, when is it and what sort of music do they play?

M83 in Charlotte on Nov 12. My friends and I are super excited. Good thing I don't have a class til 2pm on Thursdays though, because it's like a 2 hour drive from our college and I can't function on no sleep.

Not exactly a gig, but I found out my friend got me a ticket for Mogwai's after party at the Arches, after their Apollo gig (which I couldn't go to, as I'm seeing Aimee Mann that night). Caribou is DJing (he's awesome - the artist formerly known as Manitoba) and it should be cool.

Well I'm going to CMJ and while I know almost none of the 1,000 bands playing, I expect to see some good stuff. Hopefully...

  • I'd rather be procrastinating

I saw G.O. play download fest.

They are more of a party show.
the type where it doesn't really matter if you're close to the stage or not.
It's a fun show, but not necessarily a interesting one as far as technical stuff goes.
But they have really cool lights and are a little crazy

I'd say it probably all comes down to the crowd.

Enjoy.

Also I'm going to a free acoustic in-store with the Kooks and The Whigs at my local record store on Sunday.
which should be pretty cool.

I hate you eternally for ever and ever

mostly for The Dodos but that acoustic show should be pretty good as well, I mean The Whigs were actually pretty good when I saw them with Tokyo Police Club and The Kooks are not as offensively bad as some people make them out to be, they are just some fairly young dudes doin' what they wanna do

Got tickets this morning for Soundwave, which I am looking forward to mostly for Nine Inch Nails (I'm aware they're not well-regarded around here, but the live show I saw of theirs last year blew me away. Plus, screw you guys), Jaguar Love and Minus the Bear.

The Octopus Project with So Many Dynamos on the 30th at the Bluebird.

Upon review, it seems like I constantly see the same shows at the same venues. Strange!

Going to see psych folkies Circulus on Sunday. They were awesome when they played Tapestry.

Then School of Seven Bells, which I'm really looking forward to.

And I have a choice between The King Blues and Cranes, leaning towards the former as it's cheaper.

Saw them open up for Children of Bodom two years ago.  Petrozza threatened to tear the arms off of backstabbers and I believe him.  The man's a beast and a half.

I'm excited for: Ygnwie Malmsteen at The Blender!  On Sunday!  I fully intend to drink beer while watching ridiculous fingerboard action.

Alden Ginger of The Unicorns has a new band called Clues. It has some members of Arcade Fire and Hrsta and some other cool bands in it too. They're putting out their first album on Constellation (Evangelista and Vic Chestnut and Godspeed You! Black Emperor and such) next year. Anyway I booked them to play a show on my campus which should be rather fun. Apparently they put on a pretty excellent live show (with three drummers, no less). A Canadian duo called Elfin Saddle which uses all sorts of cool acoustic instruments and a home made drums is opening and maybe, as a first opener, an excellent new band from Main called Lady Lamb the Bee Keeper (check them out online. Good stuff and deserving of recognition!).

Let's see...Buckethead is playing in town on November 8th, but I don't know if any of my other friends will go to that. And then there's Dragonforce with Turisas opening for them (I'd go for Turisas) but I don't think anyone else is going to that either cause I hear Dragonforce puts on a lame live show.

Clues was the strangest show I've ever seen.  I think I saw their first live show, or at least one of the early ones.  They only had one drummer at the time anyhow.  Alden (Penner is his proper name) had a lapel mike which ran through all sorts of distortion, but he would only use it in between songs, just shrieking and yelling into it at random moments.  The drummer in the middle of the set began removing clothes, and soon after stood up, threw the drum set all over the stage, kicked over some other instruments, and walked out through the front door.  While he was gone, Alden mumbled disconnected phrases and shrieked.  After a few minutes, the drummer came back, set up his drum set, said "I was hot", and the show began as if nothing had happened.  For their encore they did a karaoke cover of some old song.  In the middle of the show, the keyboardist asked the audience to applaud her parents, who were in the crowd.  So strange.

Elfin Saddle opened, and they were a lot of fun.
