I've gotta assume since this is their first trip to Australia they won't be doing just Hazards Of Love material.

I thought they came here once before and had all their stuff stolen? Or was that another band?

Chances are that they'll play Hazards of Love in it's entirety. You may want to factor that in to your considerations.

That's what they did at Sasquatch. zzzzzzzz

Now trying to decide which Perth International Arts Festival shows I'll be going to since I don't have that much money.

Think at this point I'll just be going to Yo La Tengo and Dirty Three (performing Ocean Songs).

Oh hey what's up fellow Perth dude o/

Anyway, I am definitely at the Dirty Three show, and beside from that there is not much that looks interesting to me. Oh, except for Asterix and the Vikings at Floating Films...

Nothing much other Perth dude.
Just getting a little swamped with all these shows being announced recently.
That and melting under the summer sun.

Good lord, Sasquatch 2010 "discount" tickets are $170. The lineup better fuckin' mindblowing otherwise I might sit this year out.

Dan Deacon in Ithaca next Sunday.  I'm pretty excited if only because of the antics I've heard from people who have seen him live before.

Yeah, I know. Not even Pavement is worth $170 + additional Ticketmaster fees + Camping ($100 last year) + gas + food + alcohol.

With Pavement playing? Be quick.

I'm seeing The Flaming Lips tomorrow!

Also, to whoever is going to see Dan Deacon live, I hear he's brilliant, really really entertaining. I'm extremely jealous, and wish that he would come to the UK.

EDIT: I just went to his myspace, so looks like he isn't doing any shows anytime soon cause of a manky leg. Bummer.

Yeah he canceled the rest of his tour.  The show I was going to would have been today.  Pretty bummed about his major back problems, but I hope he recovers and reschedules soon.

Lied in my last post (twice actually.  I saw the Pack A.D. after the last time I saw BtS and before I made that post)  I suddenly saw Russian Circles tonight with Git Some and Young Widows.  Fucking brilliant.

Still have Built to Spill Monday, and Minus the Bear with As Tall As Lions is a week from Sunday.  Joy.  AFI is coming in January, I am also very excited for this.

Too bad, Mudhoney are fantastic live. They usually start their shows with a cover of This.

Sometimes they even throw in a Black Flag cover!

British Sea Power have announced five dates in Australia in February. The band will be playing two sets at the Perth International Arts Festival, including a performance of their soundtrack to Man of Aran. They will also be playing dates in Melbourne and Sydney and will be headlining the Playground Weekender Festival in New South Wales. For more details, go to the ‘Live’ page
