  • They're talking about me of course

It would seem that Converge, Coalesce, Gaza and Lewd Acts are touring the U.S together, you lucky sons of bitches.

Have I mentioned that I hate every last one of you?

I like all those bands. All of them! It's almost a perfect lineup!

Mountain Goats in April.

I mean it's not like John Darnielle doesn't bring his guitar out to Australia at least once a year, but given that the quality of a Mountain Goats show tends to fluctuate between Very Good and Life Affirmingly Amazing, it's always something I look forward to.

Yes, however if it's not the full band it probably won't be as awesome as it should be. Check to see what the line-up is before you buy a ticket.

Okay, so I'm really stoked about a lot of shows! I'm going to be seeing a lot in the next couple of months:

Feb 18th - Tortoise
Feb 22nd - Leatherface
March 6th - Alkaline Trio
March 12/13th - Simian Mobile Disco/Electric Six (maybe to both, money is an issue!)
March 29th - The Bronx
April 18th - Quasi
April 20th - Gogol Bordello
May 14th - Screaching Weasel

Holy shit, it feels good to be getting back to my punk rock roots.

They're playing in San Fran on May 1, is that the show you're considering going to? We could totally meet up at BART, I'm planning on going if I've got the cashes.

No, I'd see them in NYC.  However, it looks like tickets are already sold out :| in the long run, that's probably good because I can't really afford it to begin with, but still, damn.

The only one I have my tickets for already is P4K Festival (PAVEMENT. OH MY GOD PAVEMENT. YES.) which apparently already sold out of 3-day passes in less than a week - I won't be surprised if the one-day passes for Sunday (aka Pavement) are gone soon too. Depressingly I just bought a ticket for myself and I don't even know if any of my friends are going - I know some people who were thinking about going but I don't think they have tickets yet and I don't know if they'll want to do it if they can only get single-day. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU

I'm also probably gonna hit up Ted Leo and Spoon shows next month in Detroit, might go to St Vincent too (only just started listening to her but seems pretty cool and the show's cheap).

I'm really hoping Man or Astro-man? will announce some more shows closer to me, I was stoked when I heard they were playing. So far I think they're just doing Atlanta, Birmingham, and SXSW.  Not getting my hopes too high, Michigan sucks for concerts. There's so many tours right now I'd love to see but I can't afford to travel to Chicago or Ohio for everything.

I am in this same situation!  I am SO FUCKING LUCKY I decided to splurge and buy the tickets right away and also angry that I didn't think to tell my friend that they might sell out quicker than he expects.

In other news, I will be seeing Nosaj Thing on Monday!

Still tryna make the decision between Mayer Hawthorne/Passion Pit and Beach House. I can get free tickets to the first one but I've already seen Mayer Hawthorne and I dunno if I care about passion pit/hella screemin teens, and I've heard Beach House is fuccin amazing.

Man, I wanna see Smith Westerns. That'd be a good show. Also, I feel like you should go see Passion Pit, but maybe because I've missed them like 3 times and am generally jealous of your op!

EDIT: Fuck! Just found out Titus Andronicus will be in town the time as me (unlike the last time) but my batshit crazy ex will be there! I guess the only thing to do here is bring a hot date, get circus drunk and dance it up.

That's about five years' worth of touring to Australia right there, and you've got it in one festival with more to come. You're spoiled.

Also, it's British Sea Power week! Shit yeah! I found out when I went to collect my ticket that it was actually the first ticket sold for the gig, which is kind of cool and kind of embarassing too. It's not like I was hovering over the keyboard, waiting for the tickets to go on sale! It's just I happened to be online and I noticed it'd gone after midnight, which meant it was technically the day the tickets started selling, so I went to the venue's website because just so that I could get the ticket and not have to worry about it later.

I wonder if they'll let me keep it?

Hmm, may have to go to this instead of/as well as coachella, if only for BSS, the National, and MMJ. Seems like more stuff I like and less stuff I don't.

I just realised British Wildlife fest is only next month, I always presume fests are in the summer. Line-up's really good this year:
THE ACUTES, ALRIGHT THE CAPTAIN, A MIDDLE SEX, ASHTRAY NAVIGATIONS, BILGE PUMP, BLACKLISTERS, BLOOD CRIPS, CASTROVALVA, DIVORCE, HANK HAINT, HIPSHAKES, HIRED MUSCLE, HOUSE OF JOHN PLAYER, HUMAN HAIR, HUNTING LODGE, KHUDA, KOGUMAZA, MAN FROM URANUS, MAX TUNDRA, MUTANT APE, NAPOLEON IIIRD, NOTORIOUS HI-FI KILLERS, OX SCAPULA, PART CHIMP, PALEHORSE, PNEU (France), QUACK QUACK, RUN, WALK!, SERIOUS SAM BARRETT, SETH COOKE, SHIELD YOUR EYES, STUART BANNISTER, THAT FUCKING TANK, TWISTED, TWO MINUTE NOODLES, ULTIMATE THRUSH, UPRIGHTS, WOODERSON, WONDERSWAN, WRONGBOT.

Admittedly it is a bit of a case of the usual suspects but I will never tire of seeing the likes of Bilge Pump, Blood Crips, Two Minute Noodles and Quack Quack, and that's an awful lot of good bands for a measly £15.

Dude, didn't they extend the BART line out to Livermore? BART is awesomely easy and cheap. Much much cheaper than living in SF.

They only just started breaking ground a couple months ago and it won't be done until 2020 at best. Also, a quick search of rent prices in San Francisco yields a per-bedroom cost almost completely equivalent (and in some cases cheaper) than Livermore.
