Gridgm, I don't get it.

Watch Firefly and be enlightened. Seriously. It is the one of best TV shows around.

I really don't like Joss Whedon.

Oh yes, Snowdonia is a real and magical place, situated as it is on the borders of Raindonia, Sleetdonia and Moria.

Don't even get me started on the Cairngorms.

Well it all depends on why he doesn't like Whedon. I mean, if it were because Whedon insulted him or stole his girlfriend or something then sure that's not relevant to the quality of Whedon's TV shows. However, in the absence of such clarifying details we should assume that the reason is something relevant, namely that he doesn't like Joss Whedon because he thinks Whedon's TV shows are bad.

why should someone try to put others off from watching it because the person doesn't like it himself?

Sorry to keep picking at this when you seemed to be dropping the matter, but when did he say other people shouldn't watch it? All I see is him explaining why he doesn't watch it.

I really don't like Joss Whedon.

Why, does that make Firefly a bad show? Should someone else not watch Firefly because you don't like the guy who made it? Makes no sense to me, at least.

What? I said I am not a fan of Joss Whedon, and that I didn't get a joke. That translates into me saying no one else should watch it? I don't dislike him as a person,  I just think he is kind of a hack, and all his characters talk exactly the same way.

I saw that last night o the ABC, there is this show called the Gruen Transfer and it's about advertising in general. On the site you can watch previous episodes and construct your own adds for a few different products. That add in specific is from a segment called The Pitch where two Australian add angencies try to sell the "unsellable". Previous examples include: whale meat, Baghdad tourism and the Australian Democrat Party.

Quote
Over two decades, the Democrats achieved representation in the legislatures of the ACT, South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia and Tasmania as well as Senate seats in all six states. However, at the 2004 and 2007 elections, all seven of its Senate seats were lost. Support at the state level had also dwindled.

No one really cares all that much about the Democrats.
