Fred Durst does not write excellent pop tunes. He writes clangy ugly angry shit noise. ABBA write pop tunes. There is no literally comparing the two outside of the fact that they use similar basic elements of music such as rhythms and notes. Not similar rhythms and notes, mind you. They just both use rhythm and notes.
And Brokencyde don't write excellent pop tunes, or intelligent lyrics, or have decent production, or have alright hooks, or have interesting sound textures. They are a mix of bland and awful. If I had the choice between hearing every piece of music for the rest of my life as if it was performed by ABBA and a painful, prolonged death, I would gladly take ABBA. If the choice involved hearing every piece of music for the rest of my life as if it was performed by Brokencyde instead, I would gladly rip off my own arm and beat myself to death with it to save you the trouble. Brokencyde are dire, vacuous shit, and literally infinitely more awful than ABBA were, are or will ever be.
