Apparently, listening to Miles Davis for over two straight hours leads my brain through some wacky thought processes.

A moment ago I was listening to Kvelertak in the bathroom, and realized the pitch of my pee hitting water was in key with the song that was playing.  In fact, it sounded like a tremolo picked note that would sound great sustained through a verse of 'Sultans of Satan'

Lemonade by Braids.
I guess they've been hyped a bit, but they deserve the hype. I saw them live a couple of times and they arejust mind-fucking-blowing.If you ever get to see them, do. Just fucking do. They are coming out with their debut LP January 18th, 2011. So excited.

The new reissue of Weezer's "Pinkerton."  Usually I give the bonus live/acoustic/session recordings on these sorta things a quick skim-listen and then leave them, but they're actually fucking awesome on this!!!  And the outtakes/b-sides aren't too shabby either!

as for me. Sowilo Rune by Agalloch,

the songs is so simple... but it just... never gets old... for me.

Bum-dit-dit-dit-dit-dit-dit
Changed our old drum machine program for House of the Rising Sun from 12/8 time to 4/4 so we can reggae it up. It was getting boring but the song length keeps coming out wrong. Must play 2 x 75 minute sets tonight. Cramming for the exam basically.

Fantastic timing because I was about to come here and say I'm listening to them. I have kind of relaxed a bit on compulsively listening to them, but tonight I really needed some John Darnielle. It was a pretty shitty night.
