God, cat power puts you in a good mood.
I love " I found a reason" more than just about anything else she's done, but happy is not a world I'd use to describe it.

Mybloodyjesusexploreronfire - You Slut

Seriously, this song is happy as fuck
(I contemplated using the phrase happy as shit, but then decided that wouldn't be very happy. I didn't want to go with fuck, but the only other option I could think of was hell, and that's really not happy at all either. So I guess happy as fuck fits best. even though it sounds kind of stupid.)

This made me happy in my pants! Sounds like Pelican playing pop-punk, I love it.

On top of that one,

Sublime - Badfish
Blackout Crew - Put A Donk On It

Anything by The Polyphonic Spree. I especially love their latest album "The Fragile Army"... they rock out more than their previous efforts, and I get a "Sgt. Pepper" vibe from the whole thing.

This is a playlist I have for sad days, excluding songs that have already been mentioned.

Bob Dylan - Mr. Tambourine Man
Bruce Springsteen - Cadillac Ranch and Thunder Road
Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising, Hey Tonight, Down On The Corner, Lookin' Out My Back Door, Proud Mary, and Up Around The Bend
Dire Straits - Walk of Life
Fleetwood Mac - Don't Stop
Great Big Sea - Ordinary Day, Goin' Up, The Night Pat Murphy Died, and Run Runaway
James Brown - Papa's Got a Brand New Bag and I Got You (I Feel Good)
Joe Satriani - Day at the Beach
Kim Mitchell - Go For Soda
Los Lobos - La Bamba
Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell - Ain't No Mountain High Enough
Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline
Paul McCartney & Wings - Maybe I'm Amazed
Ray Charles - Mess Around
Roy Orbison - Oh, Pretty Woman
The Allman Brothers Band - Jessica and Ramblin' Man
The Beatles - Hey Jude and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
The Eagles - Peaceful Easy Feeling
The Traveling Wilburys - End Of The Line

I'm missing some, I'm sure, but that's the gist of it.

Tom Waits' "Table Top Joe" just makes me happy every time. I love the song itself, and the story of the little guy that had all kinds of odds against him, but came out on top anyway, and decided it was time to get his party on.

A lot of music puts me in a good mood, and in a lot of dif't genres, too.

If I'm really pissed and I want to lift my spirits, A Wilhelm Scream- The Rip, William Blake Overdrive, and Less Bright Eyes, More Deicide on repeat does the job
If I'm just mad a bit, Action Action- 8th Grade Summer Romance for some reason
If I'm in a "blah" mood, Jukebox the Ghost- Hold It In, Good Day, Static Through the Heart, and Under My Skin on repeat
Also, there's one Backseat Goodbye song (I can't remember the name of it now, it's on my iPod, but not my computer and I dont' wanna go look it up)

And, in general, Build Me Up Buttercup by The Foundations, Barbara Ann by the Beach Boys, and I'm A Believer- either "by" the Monkees or the Smash Mouth cover
