The art has been really good lately. I just keep noticing that.
And oh dear. Martens' spine is made of wafers. I don't think he'll survive this, one way or the other.

I thought she was drunk because of those bubbles by her head. Jeph draws those to indicate when people are drunk.

Hanners!  :-(
I wonder if she is drunk, has been cleaning something...well, kind of stinky or both.

Her face is flushed, so she could be drunk . . . or feverish!

OH NOES!  HANNELOOOOOORE!

Upon a bit closer examination - in panel 4, it looks like Hanners is sweating (at least I think that's what 'sweating' looks like in QC).

I think she is ill. Poor Hanners.

And I don't know exactly how the Pratchett reference figures in. Perhaps Hannelore is hallucinating that she's Mrs. Tachyon?

Poor Marten, with his indie-rock-physique. He'll be flattened.
Those are not thong straps, they're just the edges of underwear - jeans are flat across the top, underwear dip slightly in the middle, a shallow curve.

Marten just needs to break Hanner's fall - no need for heroics. Though, Hannelore can't weigh that much. She looks like, what, around 100 pounds, if that? It's not as if Marten has to bench-press her!

If Mahten puts a ring on Dora's finger, I'm gunna cry for Faye.

If Mahten puts a ring on Dora's finger, I'm going to open that bottle of scotch I've been saving and hope Faye gets so depressed she gets pickled and ends up at a swing ding and learning a week later she's pregnant and doesn't know who the father is.

It's Steve, of course, but she won't know that until she has her bastard child and she goes on Jerry Springer to make all the possible fathers take DNA tests, with Steve of course being the last.  He's horrified, she's disgusted.

Quote
I would totally take advantage of Hanners, whose with me?

Oh, I'd WANT to, but I adore Hanners and would rather she let me take advantage of her when she was sober.  Much as I'd love to ravage her body, I'd prefer she at least invited me into it before I did.

Quote
Anyone else notice that the "36" on Hanners door looks crooked?  For someone with OCD that's kinda odd.

Yes, it is indeed.

Quote
What happened to Hanners? o_O Drunk? Drugged?

Poor Hanners.  I have to resist the urge to break out the diagnostic equipment and call for a transport.

I have to keep thinking:  "Dude, she's a FICTIONAL CARTOON CHARACTER...YOU NEED TO GET OUT MORE."

Poor Hanners.  She seems so helpless in a crazy world, it brings out the protective, nurturing streak in me.

Ya know...that may be my problem with the kind of crazies I attract...

...hmmm.

Anyway, Marten needs to take poor Hanners back in and care for her.  Nurse her back to health.  Take off all their clothes and get in bed with her...to keep her warm, of course -- skin to skin contact is the best way to keep a person warm in a hypothermia situation.

You know, this could be that "Hanners wakes up in bed with Marten" and they're both naked, without actually having done the nasty.

Oh my goodness, this could turn into a two-keyboard, three-aspirin story arc.

Good going, Jeph!

Please don't hurt Hanners too much;  A lot of us really love her.

I figure, what with the flushed cheeks and sweat-droplets, Hanners is probably feverish. The little bubbles have appeared before in non-drunken context: http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1290

However, I'm not sure what the rather weird positioning of her body (i.e., exposed underwear, dropped shoulder-strap, Mahten kinda groping her [even though he's obviously just trying to hold her up]) might mean. Possibly it's just Jeph feeling a little evil towards the Hanners-freaks and deciding to make them all hot and bothered with their misguided fantasies. But I could be entirely misinterpreting it in its entire entirety.

Where's Faye to catch Martin in yet another compromising position?
Lemme guess. Tai is in there with a bottle of vodka. Either that, or Hannelore's mother.

Also, since when was Hanners a whale-tail kinda girl? Because I see thong straps.

I am definitely in line with the idea that hanners is sporting a cold/flu. it has turned to winter in their part of the world afterall... tis the season...
hopefully marten will be the good boy we all know him to be and take her back inside to care for her... and who knows? maybe something INTERESTING will develop. lord knows the things I've said while feverish have led to both embarassment and hilarity over the years. (it was mostly embarassment)

we're in for a great turn of story arcs here I think... I'm ah-cited!

Google led me to a page about Terry Pratchett. Is that the right name? I'd never heard of him before. :|

You're a lucky guy-- Terry Pratchett is a British author of satirical fantasy works. Extremely funny. Run, don't walk, to your nearest bookstore and buy a few of his books.

I should probably refer to him as Sir Terry Pratchett, btw-- he was on the New Year's Honours List.

Yes, but he was also upgraded to knighthood this year.  As for the Alzheimer's, he's in the initial stages of early onset Alzheimer's.  He says the only difference it's made to him thus far is that his typing has slowed down a lot.  Certainly when I was talking with him in August there was no noticeable difference to how he'd been in the past.

(BTW, read the books or I'll rip your nipples off.  I suggest Wyrd Sisters as a good place to start; the tone is a lot different in the earliest novels.)

If any one questions the morals of martins situation the correct answer is:

Drop the girl, she has already entered a relaxed limp state (er yeah carefully!)

The robot however could be expensive to fix if dropped, also that would leave evidence of some kind of incident.

Im only saying this out of experience people!

Or, if you ask Neil Gaiman, he is now Sir Terrance of Pratchett.

Cold medicine side-effects + staying up for 3 days = the kind of exhaustion necessary for this to happen. Somebody needs some Day-quil. (Though I don't think it does anything for a fever, and I'm not sure what you can take with it.)

Poor Winslow's locked up. He probably needs a cold boot to get going again. (hurr hurr hurr)

Yeah, but by inadvertance.
That will not saves Marty, if Dora discovers them in such a compromising situation!
Their couple works too well, so I guess too this is the beginning of much more action, with guitar solos and Scorpions-like catchlines :D

The latest strip is almost panel-for-panel a page out of my sophomore year at college. Minus the Winslow and insert a pizza. However, I'm not as indie-jacked as Marten, so, it wasn't that big a deal to hold both, just awkward. Had to scoop my friend up and over my shoulder, kick open the door, and maneuver the pizza in. Fun times.

And Jeph's art just keeps getting better and better.  :-D

When I first saw Hanners I thought maybe she'd finally fallen asleep!  Before she was having all those sleeping problems maybe she finally crashed and she's been in a state of slumber for the past 3 months.

Her hair looks cute, but it seems like Dora's has grown more.
