Daitro - Y
Active Minds/Yacopsae split
Kayo Dot - Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue
Alison's Halo - Dozen
Beau Navire - Life Moves
We Were Skeletons/MIWA split

The dude who I bought the Alison's Halo single from also had a 7-inch from some other random band in there. I googled them, but I can't even find anything about them there.

Here are some crappy backwards laptop pictures of some things I have picked up.

Elfin Saddle's Wurld. Easily the coolest thing I have bought recently. This 10" accompanies the DVD release of the film Wurld which is pretty amazing. You can read more about it here.

LP by a Halifax/Montréal band called Play Guitar. Dumb name but a great band. Bob Weston mastered it!

Some 7"s from a Toronto-by-way-of-Ottawa band called METZ. Easily one of the best bands going in Canada right now. The best live show I have seen in the past year.

LP by a dude called Electroluminescent. Saw him with Women a couple months ago. He's got a cool moustache.

Bonus 7" that came with Public Strain pre-orders, and split 7" of Bruce Peninsula with Muskox/The Gertrudes with PS I Love You. Really good version of Bruce P.'s "Shanty Song".

Canadian music!

At first, I thought the very top one was Clutch's "Robot Hive/Exodus".

In First Person/Titan split
Trap Them - Darker Handcraft (tour edition)
New Lows - New Lows

I also got an original of Slip It In by Black Flag, though it's without any inserts. Can't complain, since it's in great condition.

I think that's New Low.

New Lows is really death metal and thrash influenced hardcore from Deathwish.

Two 7"s from Third Man Records:

the Dungen single from the Blue Series, and the interview with the auctioneer from the Green Series. Neat.

Alison's Halo - Dozen
Neef - 23

Never heard of latter band, but it came with the AH 7-inch and they were 10 dollars together, so it's pretty much win-win. Just listened too, and they're pretty cool.

UP THE (pop-)PUNX!

The new Teenage Bottlerocket 7" "Mutilate Me", and the Dopamines' "Soap and Lampshades" 7". Along with a Lawrence Arms t-shirt.

I was going to pre-order the Old Firm Casuals debut EP, but the order wouldn't ship until late April. I'll get it separately when it comes out.

God damn I love this band. I was hoping to get one of the copies on black vinyl, but by the time I got to it they were only available in a pack with all three colourways, and I really don't need three copies of the same album.

So yesterday was Record Store Day.

A) I didn't get a chance to stop at a Newbury Comics in Boston. Sadface.

B) I got the Ragan/Fallon split a few years back. Wasn't too impressed with it.

No, it isn't I would fight you for it.
Not as good as their latest? Sure... Terrible? hell no. I'm far from being a fan boy since this is just the first cd I bought.
Nothing brilliant but still very tight record.

I mean compared to others playing that style of metalcore (lol Acacia Strain) this is good, but Ion D is on a whole other level compared to all that garbage. I think nothing touches Breathing Is Irrelevant, and especially Solace, so even though the last one was okay, I just hate that they took that direction. Also, nothing compares to Gab on vocals...dude is out of this world.

I don't have a big trouble with metalcore than most people usually have, there's good metalcore, Burst being a major example.
Even if you were right that the other ones are better, then I even more happy that I loved this one, it means that I will never feel dissapointed with their discography. And Cursed is cool man... mkay.
I fail to see something going wrong with Minus The Herd and what I've heard from Cursed, the songwritting is awesome, they actually know how to use breakdowns without being a huge fucking cliche, the vocals suits the music fine (I don't know the other vocalist so I think I'm very objective here), Very technical without loosing feeling (and I usually HATE technical/progressive music), the production and the bassy sound is just gorgeous...etc

It seems too many people are ditching metalcore (and other things that end with core except hardcore or grindcore) just because of the name, which is quite sad. Those guys totally miss bands like The Human Abstract, Born Of Osiris, Burst, War From A Harlots Mouth, Heaven Shall Burn, El Comer Ocho... And the list is getting bigger with time.

Live ORL Group album "You're Welcome". Every release makes me realise why Omar's blend of psychadelic, experimental rock is just wonderful on the ears.

Best $1 you could hope to spend at Joyful Noise. An EP made in an abandoned church, I think. Never listened to Hermit Thrushes before, but they seem pretty tight. Love the percussion.

Jon Snodgrass & Friends - Tri-State Record

On red + white, limited to 95. Wasn't interested until I saw Brandon from Teenage Bottlerocket and Chris Wollard were involved.

edit: I got this over the weekend. It is NOT half and half as I was expecting. Clear vinyl, with red/white/black splatter. One of the coolest records I've ever seen. And "Campaign Song '93" with Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves backing is AWESOME.

Trying to decide here..

I've got an email from No Idea about a new O Pioneers!!!/Andrew Jackson Jihad split 9". I really, REALLY like O Pioneers, but couldn't care less about AJJ. Worth the $7? The digital download comes with like 20 bonus live tracks.
