I didn't mean to whine terribly, if that's how my comment has been read. And I'm glad to be proven wrong; I'd rather someone be really happy with the winner than everyone feel vaguely dissatisfied. And you know, maybe I was just being a sore loser or something. I would love to do this again, though, either way.

Miles Davis- Kind of Blue

Though these are both only "very good" albums. There were plenty of "excellent" and/or "perfect/almost perfect" on the list, but most of them got voted out pretty early on. Too bad.

Avec's voting method is legit. I like most metal more than I like most punk and so I wouldn't bother trying to pretend that I can choose which album is supposed to be empirically more awesome despite my own preferences either.

It's obviously about preferences. I'm just saying that the voting should be based on the album, not the genre. I definitely prefer jazz to folk as a whole, but there's no chance in the world that I would vote for Kind Of Blue over Bringing It All Back Home.

I think he was just saying "I like Davis's album more than Dylan's album because Davis's album has a style that I enjoy more."
