Hmm.

Are there actually people who run around in starfleet uniforms ?

I mean, in reallife ? Outside of carnival ?

And even worse, in SCHOOL ?!

How about on a JURY?

Can someone help me out here?

I'm not trying to criticize Jeph, I just want to know why I'm not seeing a comic at the times the newspost says it should have been posted.

Again, this is not a browser cache issue.

Not to be rude, but I was up until 2am (EST) last night and in my time zone, Monday's comic wasn't up. Yet "May 25, 2009 11:14pm" is what the newspost at the bottom reads. There's four reasons I can think of for this happening, because it's not a browser cache issue.

(1) he's in a different time zone. If so, which one?
(2) he posts the newspost well before the comic. If so, whatever.
(3) his clocks are all horribly wrong. If so, someone please tell him before he misses a dental appointment or something!  :-D
(4) he's shifting the post times, to put it kindly. If so, why? Just post the real times.

I realize that it really doesn't matter so much, because I can just check it the next morning, but I could've sworn Jeph was an east coaster like myself...

Just trying to figure out around what time us nightowls should start checking for the new QC.

I bet that, instead of being a new character who may or may not become a part of the cast, the owner is in fact Angus. Or then it's Raven. She seems like one who'd have a cute AnthroPC with vaginal eels.

Probably a new character:

It'll also push some other story elements forward and maybe introduce a new character! :3

The owner is female, check yesterday's comic.
But she's "very knowledgeable about AnthroPCs", i.e. high tech computer stuff. Raven puts sticky tape on cupcakes and "invented" the submacopter. Doesn't quite fit. Does not compute.

Probably a new character:

The timestamp on the news post probably goes by the server's local time.

Well, last time he needed sorting out, it was revealed that Marten didn't have a backup.  I wonder if he's learnt his lesson?

Jeph's latest tweet suggests the ChibiAnthro's owner is someone he hasn't drawn before, so there goes the VespaVenger theory. All for the better, after some reflection.

Holy crap. Jeph has met and been in my cousin Heather's room. That is Heather. That is her room from the pocky and ramen cups to the Inu yasha posters and dirty dishes. Even the RAID excuse. . . If Angus turns out to be her cousin. . . Then Jeph's been spying on me and my family and i want royalties dammit.

Comic #1363.  He's pretty clear on the NO in response to World of Warcraft if you ask me.
She also has kinda of a "witch" look going with her hair like that..

I thought about them being related but then I thought, what if she's the ex girlfriend that didn't like him going to Coffee of Doom? I think them being related is more plausible though.

OK, 99% of the time I understand the titles of the strips, and when I don't, I can usually figure it out.  But 1413's title is "YAOI ZONE".  My internal definition of "Yaoi" is "art that depicts male homosexual acts".  Marigold likes to read/view such things?  I suppose it wouldn't be too odd, plenty of males like to read/view art that depicts lesbians....

Hey look, new QC tweets.

If they ever find out, that is. Penny hasn't said a word since the Specialsaurus came off the blackboard. Maybe she's been going through her yearbook photos like Dora has, and is now cowering in a corner somewhere while her surpressed memories are coming back.

That v-hand looks pretty weird, though. Like it's permanently stuck in that gesture.

I think that no one is answering you, because no one KNOWS.

Also, if Jeph simply uses Marigold as an opportunity to make fun of creepy cosplayers he meets at comic/anime conventions ... I'm going to be kind of disappointed. (NOTE: Not mad! Disappointed.) It's okay for him to make fun of skinny indie kids because he is one, but Jeph, are you sure you understand what type of dorkdom you're delving into here? For example, I don't think I know anyone who's into both Guild Wars and Inuyasha. I'm sure that person exists, BUT. I'm just pointing out that this looks like a smattering of random fandoms ("I've heard dorks talk about this!" "And also, this!"), not a comprehensive character. Hopefully you know someone like this and you're basing Marigold on him/her, otherwise ... this looks really random, plus titling it Yaoi Zone when there's CLEARLY no Yaoi in either the comic or Marigold's room ... it's very 'Hai gaiz Im going to try my hand at a funy stereotyep~ get it bcz anime/gamer/cosplayer?/I don't even KNOW nerds are LAEM"

In conclusion, I kind of hope Marigold goes away. They say to write what you know.

[[[[Or maybe her boyfriend walks in and takes down the guild wars poster and Marigold suddenly puts on the cat ears and Kagome cosplay and screams "OMFG I MEANT A RAID OF KAWAAAIIIII"]]]

OK, 99% of the time I understand the titles of the strips, and when I don't, I can usually figuFrom my experience re it out.  But 1413's title is "YAOI ZONE".  My internal definition of "Yaoi" is "art that depicts male homosexual acts".  Marigold likes to read/view such things?  I suppose it wouldn't be too odd, plenty of males like to read/view art that depicts lesbians....

First, take a glance at what Marigold's shirt reads. Might clear up why it's the title, might not.

As for why the girls like it, my experience has been one of two reasons. The one I have seen more often is the pairing up of two very "pretty" boys, called bishounen, in a very loving relationship, which I interpret as two characters that said girl could be attracted to in an idealized, if sometimes screwed up relationship.

Then there's the girls who just like to see two guys get it on.

What's wrong with her room? Except for the Inuyasha poster, the rats, and the flies, it looks like MY room. (Also, I play Guild Wars, not WoW.)

When I was single, that was soooooo my room. My desk still looks like hers, something The Man is always giving me a hard time about. I used to play GW, but I hated that the only time you had contact with other players was in town, unless you were partied before you left. On WoW I can group up with random folk out in the field whenever it's mutually beneficial. Plus I love the whole job thing.

Dude, who doesn't like a little hot man on man action now and then?!!

I love Marigold's acne.

Remember kids: You can't spell pimple without pimp.

Also ... I think I love you ... you know ... in a non-personal internet sort of way.
