Happy Birthday, Jeph!  Have a good one!  :D

Having been in the Marigold situation of not wanting to socialize because you just don't feel comfortable, but wanting to be social, and only feeling comfortable in a particular situation, I can empathize.  Its a tough gig to get out of, and the only person who can get you out of it is you.

Yeah, I used to be the same way too.  I decided to be more sociable halfway through my high school years and it was hard because after years of not talking to anyone, I had to learn social skills which I sort of made up as I went along.  It took literally years to get over being socially awkward and inept...  actually, I'm not sure that I'm completely over it even now!  :)  Still, I can't imagine going back to the way I was back then.  It was very...  lonely.

(Poor Marigold!)

I think snub means as far as Marigold.  No she hasnt said wow, but most people who go to raids are playing WoW.  Other games call it something different.
If she "optimizes servers" this lends credence to the theory that "RAID" refers to the hard disk thing (and that Angus is just mishearing/misquoting it)
Or she does both. Gasp!

Maybe Marigold is simply dismayed because her Internet connection just randomly died, thus robbing her of 4chan's charming lulziness, as well as cutting off the supply of fresh, delightful yaoi.

(Should I be scared that I spelled "yaoi" correctly on the first try?)

I have to admit, even through the oahspe of sheer idiocy that 4chan is most of the time, some lulz do manage to filter through. In fact, I found QC through a thread there where they were photoshopping that day's comic. More like Jew York, amirite?

It's nice to see more redheads in the comic again, and I admit, I miss Dora's hair when it was black. (They should have Raven around more often, too.) Like her reaction when she looks at Steve's pic, her eyes are on the verge of bugging out. Still, what's her hangup with wanting to hookup with a guy so fast? Whatever happened to slowing down and getting to know if the guy's a jerk or not? Then again, women will always set the pace. Us men are just along for the ride, even if some of us are smooth-talking SOBs.

I LOVE this comic. Jeph's been on a roll lately. I like that he's drifted back into QC being a bit surreal. You don't see too much of the anthro-pcs anymore, so it's nice to have a reminder that the QC world is a little off-kilter.

I'll probably get banned for being creepy... but that were my world, I might have said yes too.

We had such a long spell of realism that I was actually jolted when Jeph got back to typical QC humor  with the Department of Kicking Your Ass. It's good to be in a world where bars have Victorian costumes for rent.

Maybe that's the real answer to the question of how the QC universe got so different from ours. It was created so similar to ours that it still evolved humans with the same bands we have, but the fundamental physical constants were set a few parts per billion weirder.

I will have to re-evaluate my dislike for the Steve Character.

Recently, stuff with Steve in it has been hilarious.

I guess he's been relegated to minor character status because he can never stay with a girl for more than a few strips, so he can't really hook up with the strip's permanent female characters.

He's been with the strip since the beginning; maybe he deserves a last name.
