Angus is getting more and more human and less of a cartoon figure.

So is Hannelore. Love her "dude, it's just an anime" look in the last panel.

I laughed at this, good comic.

Also, is this the first time we've seen a panel split with a horizontal bar like that?

What's wrong with labia? Labia simply means "lips." Some of us just have more lips than the rest of us.

It's nice that Angus is getting  touch with his feminine side and all, but I think Hanners and Marigold are heading for their own episode of "The L Word"

They are watching porn together - and no, I have never watched porn with another guy.  Well, once in college; but we were really drunk - oh, God...What did I do??!!!

Are you sure? He's talking about the split between "Episode 3" and "Episode 6" (i.e. a horizontal bar across what is a panel in the standard layout), not the vertical bar between "Episode 11" and "Episode 14".

In #780, Angus talks about how far being stupid and self-centered will get you in life. I didn't realize then that he was intended as a likable character.

He's actually more interesting this way than he would be as just a source of conflict.

And please guys, no Hannelore/Marigold sex talk [hurk]. At least not until Marigold gets CLEAN. She still looks like she needs to be soaked in a bleach and water solution.

The very mention of the title "Magical Love Gentlemen" would have me heading for the nearest exit...like, say, a fifth-story window. Angus' ultimately willing participation and emotional involvement help solidify that stance.

Also, I hereby nominate Hanners' "DUDE SRSLY WTF" expression in the last panel for Best. Ever.

Hannelore with a new interest can be a scary thing to watch. Remember when she took up the drums? The word Marten used was "focused", which was putting it mildly.

Actually, I think they're just watching a normal anime, not pr0n. In the previous comic, Hannelore said she was returning manga and didn't specify that it was yaoi (though presumably she borrowed yaoi as well ... and maybe those are also in that huge pile?). Based on the fact that Marigold says there's an anime to go with the manga, I think we can assume this is something with a real plot and (clearly) several episodes.

Ooh, I can be nerdishly detail oriented!

Marigold referred to the stack Hannelore brought back as "this series"(1440), implying it was just one.

In 1420, Hannelore asked to take "the whole series" of Magical Love Gentlemen.

Magical Love Gentlemen is what Hanners said they were watching in 1441.

MLG may be something mainstream with a plot, but it was enough to get Hannelore to blush.

Hannelore also blushed when she grabbed the butt of a static robot while thinking she was alone and no-one could see it. I think just two guys kissing would be enough to make her blush. In fact, she's known to blush quite easily.

I don't think Magical Love Gentleman is pornographic at all -for once, the girls were not at all fazed by Angus' arrival who promptly referred to it as a "dude-romance cartoon", the plot is described as "nuanced and compelling" and I doubt a straight guy would sit through several episodes of explicit guy-on-guy action then cry at the end. In fact, from everyone's behaviour I'd say it is more cheesy-romantic than porn, which is amusing since everyone was anticipating some hot Marigold/Hanners masturbation session at the very least.

As someone who's actually watched this stuff on occasion: I am pretty sure all MLG has is a bunch of kissing scenes. Very romantic, emotional kissing scenes, surrounded by a lot of plot, motivated by many repressed/hidden feelings, secret betrayals, and tragic circumstances.

I would also like to say that even the "porntastic" yaoi stuff tends to have a fair amount of plot. Take the classic Ai No Kusabi: most of the plot is a string of fairly intense sex scenes.  However, the plot is still a PLOT: we have an entire distopian society set up and introduced, we have class warfare, we have gangs and black market scams and discussions about eugenics and social structure and all sort of musings on what makes a society vs an individual strong or weak, etc... and we have a rather lovely forbidden love story.  Just... surrounded by a lot of sex.

Or "Fake,"which was generally pg-13, but had some sex scenes.  If Hannelore opened it at various points in the manga, she would probably blush. But it was about two cops solving cases, and each episode had a genuine Law-and-Order type murder/theft/organized-crime/whatever case that formed the main focus of that installment.

Less than 5 hours actually, animes usually are 24 minutes each. If you jump the intro/outro, the next episode previews, omakes, the "what happened in the last episode" parts, you usually get 18, 19 minutes tops.

~5 hours, really ~4 hours 40 minutes. Anime episodes are 20 minutes each, give or take a minute. That's assuming they did a marathon with no breaks in between episodes, and that they didn't watch the end credits every single time (though it does count for some of the opening).

Angus is a professional strawman.

Neither seem like 9-5 jobs so much as you get called in.

Actually, most episodes are closer to 23 minutes. If you count potty and food breaks, that amounts to somewhere between 6.5 and 7 hours for 14 episodes. I've done enough marathons to know you can't go instantly from one episode to the next all day long. There are some breaks in there. Though as you say, if they skipped the credits it would probably cut some time off.
