I wonder if Hannelore's ever pondered the wonders of hardening epoxy.

Why, it would even literally help one hang on to one's seat.

Having watched friends play WoW, I don't see why Hanners would be so freaked out.  I figured that all the calculations inherent in the battle system of WoW would occupy all of her cognitive (by which I mean her OCD) functions, leaving nothing for the "OMG, WTF is this?!?!?!" feelings to break through...

Well, you probably don't have quite as much cushioning for it to go through as Marigold does...

Ah, the fart joke; all class, all the way! If it was good enough for Aristophanes and Chaucer, who are we to argue? As John Keats put it when he ripped out a good one: "Soon, up aloft, the silver, snarling trumpets 'gan to chide."

In the last panel, I kind of imagine Hanners making a sound rather like this.

:-D I nearly fell laughing from my chair at work... thanks for this comic.

Reminds me to always set my voice-connection to "Push to speak". Can really break a good run with the guild when someone farts so loud everybody hears it over Teamspeak.

And to cite a friend about that theme: "Its not the stink... its the eyes burning that i hate..."

why does Marigold move her leg while releasing gas (as shown on image 4) ??
it seems rather strange - i first thought that the sound description was the chair breaking and she was stabilising herself (happened to me)

I have a cousin who does that all the time (lift his butt up a bit before farting). It's a combination of sharing the aroma and not being coy about farting. Although with Marigold thinking she's by herself... I think it's so it doesn't feel weird coming out if it's a rip-snorter of a fart.

Oh Oh Oh...

This one needs a "spew" warning. I was drinking coffee while reading today's strip. I was a bit down after watching the moment of silence for the 9-11 memorial event and started reviewing my webcomics...sip..click...sip...click...next...repeat...then QC...sip...scan down...fart noted...sip...hanner's face...spew coffee...

My ribs hurt from laughing.

I do have one question though. Has Hanners never had gas herself?  I'm sure she's had chili over at her friend's house before...and coffee is a major laxative too.

Does she make that face every time she uses the toidy at home?

Seconded.  I always thought it would be hilarious if someone was streaming some drawing they were drawing, forgot they were streaming it, and decided to take a "break."  So that sort of wormed its way into my interpretation of this.  After I realized what really happened, I remembered that raids aren't something you can just stop and take a break in the middle of.

BS!!!
Methane has no recognisable smell , and it almost instantly oxidises to 2H2O + CO2
The smelly thing about farts are sulfurous compounds, such as H2S and by butyric acid.

Methane combusts as soon as it leaves your ass? That must be painful.

You know what would make this strip even more classy? Adding more consecutive farting panels.

I think Hanners is afraid of her own bodily functions, or anyone knowing she has them. I mean, she thinks she is pregnant when she throws up - http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1119 and when there is possibility she might have farted she is mortified - http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1299

I imagine when she actually does she has to have a shower and sterilise the whole bathroom.

In my experience, it's a girl thing. Those ladies who've been 'comfortable' enough around me to let one rip (the Great Casualness—FEAR IT) while sitting down have all but one executed this maneuver or simply leaned over in their seat (some men do that one, too, but not the leg lift). The one who did not was rather thin, but I don't know that this was a factor. Silly me, I never asked.

Did ask one of the 'lifters.' She said, "You have to let it out." Which, I suspect, may be one of the core truths of the universe.
