Hah! First strip in quite a while to provoke prolonged laugh-out-loudiness (the panel 4 expressions are priceless). Coincidentally, just a couple of days ago UK Quest broadcast the Mythbusters episode where they tried to turn a vacuum cleaner into a jet engine - but actually ended up with a flame-thrower. Pintsize's next project, perhaps...

Akima, while you're here - I sent you a PM about your avatar some weeks ago, I guess you didn't see it. Where is your avatar from? I like the art style and if it's a comic or graphic novel I'd be interested in reading the whole thing. Thanks.

Personally, I'm curious about what's in the avatar's thought bubble... from the expression on her face, I get the impression it's something best left unsaid!

Quite the contrary actually. Mortified characters tend to ad a lot of drama in a story. Jeph ain't going to pass that opportunity. This could lead Angus and Faye into romantic progress!

Now I shall resume the first 3 issues of the week with a single word, liberal art emoticon or word set to describe an action for each of them!

The best place to get it on/crank one off is:
In a bed    - 16 (34.8%)
On a couch    - 4 (8.7%)
In the shower/bathtub    - 11 (23.9%)
In the back seat of a Volkswagon    - 0 (0%)
On The kitchen table    - 4 (8.7%)
In New Zealand (Fuckin' Kiwis!)    - 11 (23.9%)

Total Voters: 46

In a bed?! Really people, really?

Neither O . O nor "facepalm" are words.  Well, facepalm is a word, but you have it as an action...

Just pickin' nits, don't mind me...

And no, Angus will not die a horrible death.  But he'll wish he had from sheer mortification.  (get it?  "mort"- ification?  Oh.  Sorry)

It's not his fault though, it was just an accident.

Funnier if she doesn't.  He's gonna be cowering in the corner, expecting to be thrown somewhere, and she'll pull some weird mindfuck on him like she did with Marten's dad... well, not like that one, but you know what I mean.

Or she'll do the lower-lip quiver at his insensitivity, and start bawlin, and just when he can't feel any lower, ... BAM!!

Or anything in between.  It's all good!

Options?

"Let me just finish: The guy puts the shotgun in his mouth, blows off half of his face, and lives! What an idiot!"
"Nuh-uh, you're going to have to bring a lot more than a dead dad to catch me off guard."

Unfortunately, both will result in a slow and painful death for Angus.

Does the comic title refer to today's specials? Got me wondering there.

Here's how the next comic goes;  Angus still doesn't believe her, Faye gets mad and walks away, Angus stands there dumbfounded and is about to utter profanity when suddenly a rocket propelled Roomba flies through the shop and thwacks him in the head, knocking him out cold.

What exactly is Faye going to do?
I thought the talk about Angus was him leaving/hiding due to embarrassment. But, as Faye so aptly pointed out, one could not entirely blame for for thinking Faye's pulling one over on him. She has no reason to do anything to him.
But I can see him going home and Marigold being all worried because he's all upset and then find out it's because of Faye and then jump to conclusions about Faye and Angus and be miserable...and then Marigold runs into Hanners who is worried and Marigold tells Hanners about Angus and Faye, and then Hanners accidentally tells Marten and Dora, and then Dora says something about it work....
Fun times!

True, no place is safe when trying to outrun the Wrath of Faye. I'm halfway expecting Angus to realize Faye's situation and stare blankly for a moment... then grin as he learns that he has found the ledge he needs to gain the upper hand. Like that guy in Tienanmen Square, standing up against the tank (then valiantly gumming up the tread gears).

The Tienemann square guy did not get squished, although he's not been seen or heard of again since then...

As for today's comic, the only question I had was, as Angus was running past Dora, was there fear in his eyes, or tears?

He slowly backs away from Faye, then runs.  I'm not completely convnced he's running from her, as much as running away from what he just did to her without realizing it.  Poor guy must feel like a little ball of shit after that.  Nothing Faye could do would hurt him more... well, not emotionally.

Physical pain's always an option, but it doesn't look like Faye's going to pursue it.  She probably realizes how much he's already doing to himself - why add to it?  He's doing a fine job.

Yay empathy?

 :-D

Sorry, I can be a real asshole at times.

Actually it was his birthday, not the anniversary of his death.   :-P
OH SNAP DONI'T U FEEL SO BAD RIGHT NOW

But it was pretty sad to read that comic that day.  Just weird luck, I guess.  Could've been worse, at least it wasn't that actual suicide comic - especially since my friend went pretty much the exact same way as Faye's dad did.

Ok, sorry to bring the party down...   :|

Have I mentioned I dont like at all how Faye is drawn at the moment ?

She was waaay cuter in the past.

One really just needs to press "random":

http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=780

http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=105
http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=579

Well, except the random function somehow isnt in the mood to choose indexes above 780 ... !?!?

In none of these Faye looks like a tank or something.

Weeeeeellllll Faye has always been described, by herself and others, as being heavier-set than the rest of the cast. (Not really overweight, but you know, not skinny.)  It's just that now the art actually shows her to be that way. In many of the  earlier strips, she looked pretty much the same size as Dora just with more boobs and ass (and that's partially why people were always all "wtf is she talking about when she makes comments about her weight?").

That said, even Dora is kinda looking more... full-bodied all over lately.

The Tienemann square guy did not get squished, although he's not been seen or heard of again since then...

I should have inserted a sarcasm indicator. I know about the Tienanmen Square guy, but I was just remembering a parody newspaper article at the time; "Stiring Symbol of Human Defiance Difficult to Remove from Tank Treads".

Problem is, I've heard the same urban myth from my students!
