Demon's Souls
« on: 24 Dec 2009, 11:24 »

I'm wondering if anyone else here plays this game.

I know it's an obscure nichey game, but it's my easy pick for game of the year, and probably my non-Shin Megami Tensei game of the decade.

(To answer your question, yes I am an Atlus fanboy.)

Usually when I'm complaining about the problems with modern adventure games, I'm saying "I want to see a modern game more like this", and Demon's Souls is like the exact game I'm always describing.  The controls are simple and not combo-driven, the game is insanely difficult, and your strength isn't overly tied to level.  It's like the game NES developers would have made if they had PS3 technology.

I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge and doesn't play a game for the 'interactive movie' aspect of it.
