Yelling Bird better be careful, Shelby could eat him in one bite!

Also, now that Shelby has appeared in the comic, I think it only proper that she should have her own Twitter feed as well.

A falcon (or was it a hawk?  it almost looked like a red-tailed hawk) tried that once.  And Yelling Bird busted straight out of his gut.

The Hawk in question made the mistake of swallowing YB whole. Shelby has enough power in her massive jaws to turn YB into bird paste post-haste.

Having just experienced a weekend visiting elderly relatives, for once I completely get where Yelling Bird is coming from. Except I would add one thing:

AHHHHH! The word is pronounced Wal-MART! M A R T. There IS NO FUCKING K at the end! The store is NOT named for wall urination*. Wal damn marT!

Ahh, catharsis.

Thanks, Jeph! Best filler ever! (As in I seriously needed it).

Given that Randy said "I had a baby!" I think you're right...I know it takes both men and women to have a baby, but Randy saying that suggests (she) gave birth to it.

Hmm, you'd think Hanners would notice the coffee she's apparently pouring on her pants.  The heat from that alone should cause a hard reboot.

If she did have a clone, though, I'd expect CloneHanners to have more problems rather than fewer.  Not that the AltHanners she's stressing about doesn't have problems . . .  Always fun to invent new things to worry about for yourself.

Both more problems, and fewer problems.

The made-up story that would fit a useful subset of facts is that Hannerdad and Hannermom settled the custody dispute by cloning Hanners (take that, Solomon!). The one we know went to live with her dad on the space station, where the serotonin-blocking drugs to prevent bone loss in microgravity had the side effect of causing mental health problems.

The other clone, though neurochemically normal, was raised by Beatrice Chatham.

None of this really jibes with the story line in which Hannermom visited.

The Hanners clone doesn't have an Australian accent. It sounds Irish, maybe Scottish, but definately not Aussie.

We don't say dearie, yer, ain't, 'till, 'fore or yank.

I would be kind of nice to hear Jeph do an Aussie accent irl, it would most likely be quite amusingly bad :)

The Hanners clone doesn't have an Australian accent. It sounds Irish, maybe Scottish, but definately not Aussie.
We don't say dearie, yer, ain't, 'till, 'fore or yank.

Americans do have the oddest ideas of what Australians sound like as a result of being force-fed Crocodile Dundee, Steve Irwin etc. I've read lots of comments to the effect that Jessie Spencer "doesn't have an Australian accent" or "is trying to put on a British accent" in his role as Dr. Chase in House M.D., when he has a perfectly normal "educated" Melbourne accent.

Having said that "dearie" isn't common here in ladies under the age of eighty; "yer" is OK for "you're", but should have been "ya" for "your"; "ain't" is used in Australia, but most commonly by older males. Aussies don't drop the first syllable from "before", but rather drop the "r" sound at the end (our accents are "non-rhotic" generally*). I'd give "yank" for "pull", and "'till" for "until" a pass though; I hear them fairly often, especially the latter. Given Hanner-scar's "rough as guts" attitude however, I'd recommend "reef out" instead of yank for the authentic psycho-Aussie flavour: "Don't worry, I'll wait till yer dead before I reef out ya teeth!"

Excellent comic, by the way, very funny. The can of petrol is a lovely touch. By the way, what is Hanner-scar's cap-badge? Does Hanner-mum have a whole secret army like a Bond villain, complete with black helicopters and a secret base under a volcano?

* Yes, my Mum made me take elocution lessons to improve my English pronunciation.

OK, so I wasn't the only one who wanted to know what cap badge Hanner-scar had.

She also might have considered the need for a wee bit o'plastic surgery - that scar looks interesting and the chunk out of the ear might need a little touching up to convince the gang - course when she starts going through the cast like a sailor just off a six month cruise thye might get suspicious as well.

thanks for the morning funny.

Oh my gawd! I am so turned on right now and I don't know why.

Maybe it's where EvilHanners's left boot appears to be. Maybe it's the idea of an actual EvilHanners-GoodHanners swap and see how EH tried to integrate into GH's life with all the other characters.

...

Maybe Hanners is deliberately pouring the coffee down her pants to mask the fact that that involuntary fantasy made her just wet herself in another way.

OK, so I wasn't the only one who wanted to know what cap badge Hanner-scar had.
It reads EC with a little skull under it

Hanners is the clone of the one they cared about; that's why they let her grow up isolated on a space station.  Do you think they didn't know what they were doing to her?

Unfortunately, their real daughter went through something of a rebellious phase, which ended in... an Empedoclean fashion.

If she did have a clone, though, I'd expect CloneHanners to have more problems rather than fewer. Note that the AltHanners she's stressing about doesn't have problems . . .  Always fun to invent new things to worry about for yourself.

Who says scarface there is the clone? That might be the wishful thinking.
Actually, I could see Hannermom having a vast storehouse of Hannelores, the same as Dr. "Rusty" Venture does of Hank and Dean.

Well, it's Hanners' stress-daydream, so basically she said scarface was the clone.  As far as QC-reality goes, there's no saying if there is another.  I think I recall Hanners saying that she was grown in a test tube (or am I hallucinating?), so Hannelore herself could be a clone, or a gene-splicing experiment, or HannerDad's attempt at an idealized superhuman gone slightly awry.  And the idea of an entire bunker full of Venture-style undercooked HannerClones somewhere sounds like a creepy fanboy fantasy to me ("How much will it cost to have one for my very own?"), soooooo . . . thanks for that image.

Actually, I would posit that purple elephants do not contribute to the ruination of everything forever in any way.

So Hanners' clone is Cammy from Street Fighter? The pigtails are missing, but the scar's in the right place.
Come to think of it, Tai might make a good (if short) Elena, and I could possibly see a longer-haired Dora pulling off a Juri. As well as Penelope pulling off Karin. (what have I done oh lord)

Evil Hannelore has good taste in guns, it would appear. (It would also appear that Jeph may have been playing SC: Conviction, judging by gun/mag shape.)

I don't remember anything about Hannelore being a test-tube baby, can any of the Masters of the Archives confirm or deny it?

Who would win a fight on Volcano Island, Hannermom or Steve?

Interesting point about her being an experiment: is her father a Scrabble fanatic who was trying to breed the ultimate player? Or was it an attempt at general IQ? She did win a poll on who was the most intelligent character.
