This was one of the first comics in a while that really just made me bust out laughing.  Mostly from Marigold throwing the money as hard as she could at Dale, and it fluttering harmlessly.  Good show Jeff, good show.

It's actually kind of frightening the rampart racial hatred Blizzard has managed to drum up between Alliance and Horde characters. Both sides hate each other with a gusto normally reserved for the other guys in a World War. PvP servers especially, increased by the fact that often you will have several hours of play ruined by people twice your level murdering you a dozen times in certain zones. But even on PvE the difference is not that obvious. The other side is "loser no skill newbs" and your side is awesome.

Oh yes, we are. Had a very similar situation happen to me at work.
Guy walks up to my checkout stand wearing a WoW shirt, and of course I comment on it (it was an awesome shirt).
Turns out we're on the same server! But then...

Me: "No way! I've never met anyone else on Ysondre! Horde or Alliance?"
Him: /suspicious stare "... Alliance. Why do you ask?"
Me: "I'm  Horde, that's why. Troll shaman." /glare
Him: "I don't think I want you handling my clothes, Troll." /glare
Me: "I don't want you in my line anyway, Ally!"
At that pont people were staring at us, so we both stopped and stared at the ground.
Me: "Did that really just happen?"
Him: "Yeah... Uhm. Maybe I should just go..."

And then I was both embarrassed and proud for the rest of the day.

I might otherwise have agreed with this, but she's not even looking at him in panel one, and she's not blushing later.  I think she just transitioned from her shyness default to her in-game aggression.

Alliance or Horde, if you don't tip the delivery person, you are scum.  And deserve to have any future food deliveries spat upon.  Don't get me wrong, the strip cracked me up, but . . . I wouldn't be too surprised if the pizza delivery service to Marigold and Angus' apartment was less thatn stellar from now on (I know I wouldn't blame Dale for flagging the address as a no tip destination).

they are doing their job if they deliver it to you 20 minutes after you order and an hour and a half after you order. the tip is meant as a thank you for getting the food to you at a reasonable time.  Most delivery people are just paid enough to cover their gas expense and sometimes minimum + gas expense and there actual money is expected in tips (not unlike a waiter).  I try to tip 15% unless its ridiculously late from their ETA.

Wise man says: forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for a late pizza.

People tend to misunderstand the this; you still get minimum wage with a tip job.  The restaurant is allowed to deduct 'x' from the wages they give you based on the amount of tips you recieve, down to a certain amount, but if you were to make no tips, they're still required to pay you minimum wage.  So, for example, if you work one table in an hour, and they don't tip you, your boss has to pay you minimum wage for that hour.  However, if that table tipped you $10, then the pay you'd get from the restaurant would go down to somewhere around 3 or 4 dollars, instead of the 7 something it is now.  You're still making $13 - $14 an hour, however, instead of the 7 and change you'd make with no tips.  Supposedly, this incentivizes good service, but since everyone tends to think 15% is almost mandatory, some servers tend to expect it just for average service.  It's sort of a catch-22 situation.

"No Tips For Alliance Scum!" (intoned in a Darth Vader voice if you have the larynx for it) deserves to become a meme. It's much funnier than "No Soup For You". Dale learns the hard way that it's best you leave your personal life at home when you go to work, especially if you rely on tips (which are un-Australian by the way, though we've been corrupted by foreign visitors).

Among the many reasons I avoid using services where the providers "expect" tips is the implicit extortion. The hovering threat of: "I know you've paid the asking price for your <service>, but if you don't pay me a tip over and above that, expect me to drag my feet, give you a lousy table, spit in your food etc." That probably says as much about my personality as that of anyone working in, for example, the food delivery industry, but plenty of people I've met who work in "tip" jobs relish telling stories about how they "punish" customers who don't tip "enough".

I work providing IT services to the medical industry. I think I should receive tips for my work in addition to my salary. I mean, you wouldn't want your medical records to get lost would you? Or switched with someone else's? Thank you... What, only 15%!? <type> <type> <type>    Not really funny actually, there are plenty of places where you do have to tip your doctor, nurses etc.

Pizza cost varies by region, I guess -- with coupon and before tip, an XL pizza is $20 in my neck o' the woods.

And to the non-tipping folks: I know "tip culture" varies depending on country, but if you live in the US and don't tip a delivery person or waiter/waitress, you are a cheapass.  Just get take-out.  Problem solved.
