Personally, I think being hairy is awful, and having a beard is the ugliest thing possible on a dude.

Then again, my beard is made of razor wire, and requires an epic, painful journey to shave, so I'm biased.

My beard is silky and moisturised. If I lose the beard I grow stubble back in about 6 hours. It is itchy and rough. Hence; beard.

On the other hand I remove most of my body hair. Except my chest and legs. I am also becoming worried about the number of similarities I have to Angus...

Going with the tattoos on the real poll. No real deal-breakers in there, but tattoos in certain places would require some explaining.

But a Friday strip is also coming up. Are we gonna see
  • a midnight itch, scratched (with dorsal hair or otherwise),
  • morning snuggles,
  • knowing looks and gossip greeting Faye at the morning shift of CoD, or
  • waffles for breakfast?

I agree with that, I don't mind tattoos, but what gets me is if she has several tattoos on different parts of her body. The tattoos aren't a dealbreaker for me, but its just looks bad to me if they seem haphazard and random. I'd much prefer it if she had several tattoos on her shoulder and arm than, say, one on her ankle, one on her inner wrist and another on her lower back.

I forgot to quote it but whoever called them "Captain Backhair and DimePimple" should get an award. I laughed so hard!

I've always been an Angus sympathiser but as a woman, that comment from him made me want to punch him in the mouth.

I had a boyfriend once who was in the bathroom. I asked to use it and he didn't leave. So he stood around while I started *going* and then he was like, "I have to go, I can't listen to my dream girl pooping." It pissed me off then and it pisses me off now. Yeah that kind of intimacy and knowledge will always dull the mystery a bit, but I don't want to be any pedastals. I'm a person. I poop. I fart. I have butt zits. BTW he also had enough back hair that he could have braided it and then worn wrap it around his waist like a belt and I didn't say anything because I wasn't expecting him to be perfect.

So back on point, grrrrrrr. Shut up Angus. You have filled me with hate.

Angus is a G, he doesn't have to worry about doing it right. It's sex with Faye that's the problem. A woman he spent so long idealizing and chasing after is now in his bed? I can understand the pressure.

On the real though, I don't think Faye would be so lucky as to date two professional sexmasters in a row. Jeph will probably have her say the sex was underwhelming just to throw a curveball at us and outline the discrepancy in her relationship between Angus and the one she had with Sven. One is good for his heart and sense of humor, the other fucks her senseless.

Now imagine her deciding she wants both...

Everything gets better with practice.

I have tried the "Let's not have sex lets just cuddle all night" scene.  It never worked out that way. I either spent the night tossing and turning feeling frustrated or ... well something else ended up happening that wasn't exactly cuddling. :)

Well, where you can say that Sven was a master at sex, who is to say he is a master of making love, eh? There IS a difference. Sure, sex is sex is sex, but fucking and making love are two comletely different experiences.

So in the Banging category, sure lets give Sven the upper hand. (not too closely now)
But in the actual lovey-dovey, emotionally investing bedroom antics, I vote for Angus.

I would have to disagree about forearm tattoos being for people who won't have tax-paying jobs. The astrophysics professor at my university, who also happens to be my boss and undergraduate research adviser, has sleeves on both his forearms. He very much has a tax-paying job, and brings in tons of grant money for research.
Similar with facial tattoos; as long as they aren't obnoxious they'd probably get a pass. Heck, even Starfleet lets you in with face-art.

Nah tattoo's are okay as long as it doesnt get to freaky, i generally dislike anything beyond shoulder pieces tho, half sleeves and full sleeves are just ugly imo

meaningless ankle, wrist and trampstamps are worse tho

scrolling a bit there a thing occured to me, and its probably been discussed already but im amazed i have this solid of a memory...

I only have one, it symbolizes my dad, it means the world to me. The tattoo artist however, didn't understand, and now I have a golf ball in snow instead of a moon with clouds slightly covering it. I've gone to see about having another artist fix it, to make it look more like a damn moon. At the time I didn't have the money, and he was wanting to charge me about $200 for it to be slightly altered (basically to add more shading to it).

My mistake was I was 18, I didn't shop around for an artist, I went to my best-friends...boyfriends...best-friend (yeah one of those things) who owned his own shop. The whole time he was trying to convince me to get a crescent moon, and I told him a full moon nothing else. Thing is, he does awesome work, mine however, he just didn't give a shit because it wasn't what he wanted to do. However, I was so proud when I got it and had to rush home to show my dad. I had said I was going to get that tattoo ever since I was 14, and as soon as I could, I went and got it. It's on my right shoulder. To me, a decent spot. =] I really do want to get it fixed though.

I wonder why the calf area is not represented on that tattoo chart? That's where all of my tattoos are. Easy to hide, even with capri pants in the warmer weather, and also easy to show if I'm in the mood.

That is a shame. It is unfortunate when an artist does sloppy work. Sadly I have seen that happen far too often. I was fortunate enough to have a tattoo artist who cares about is profession and will work with the customer to make sure they get what they really want. I designed all my own tats and knew exactly what I wanted, he basically copied directly from my own designs. All but two of my tattoos have personal significance to me, barring the first one I got when I was 18 and just wanted to get one.

I hope you manage to get yours fixed one day, especially given its personal significance to you.

Poor Hannelore. Maybe afterward she can curl up with some Palatino.

Something sans-serif would be easier to dust. Perhaps she could borrow a cup of Franklin Gothic from Dora.

Myriad Pro, Hanners? I mean really:psyduck:

God help us if you ever run into some Century Gothic, or, dare I say...Futura Condensed.

(I did not mention Comic Sans because there might be children reading this forum over their parents' shoulders and they should not have to learn about it so early)

Imagine how many scary ones there would be in the movie about fonts.

An amazing number of relevant results show up if you search for "movies about typography".

I doubt Sven would have scary fonts in that movie. No no, more likely a whole bunch of really racy fonts, like American Typewriter, or Courier New if the girl's into the vintage look.

If he really wanted to get Hanners in the mood, he'd have some smutty explicit thing with a bunch of Georgia and Goudy Old Style all over the place, maybe with some Museo in there just to be a fucking pervert

Looks like Marigold made it out of the building okay. Wonder if she's going to spend the night at Hannelore's to avoid any further awkwardness with Angus and Faye?

Also, I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one here who isn't a complete nerd when it comes to fonts. I use Fixedsys (looked that up) in Notepad solely because it's the first fixed-width font I found in the list, along with whatever the default font in OpenOffice is, and that's about as far as I'm willing to go. Am I really in the minority here?

It's incredibly amazing to me that nobody has gushed about the amazing depth of character and originality in Jeph's writing yet. But it'll come soon enough, I'm sure.

Nothing wrong with introducing an old joke into a new setting. The originality comes in the contextualising and punchline. I'm not really into gushing but it's a pretty decent treatment.

Scott Kurtz wasn't the originator of the joke either (I can remember it being used in Harold Lloyd films) and to be fair, didn't even do it as well.

After this latest comic, I'd love to see Hannelore's reaction after watching "The Legend of the Overfiend".

The original tentacle porn? Hanners would leap out of a window.
