TV Tropes this early in the morning? You're an evil dog, dawg.

Yay Raven! Does this mean whacky hijink vacations for some of the staff? Either way, let's welcome her and her hooters back!

Please, excuse untimliness? Went away for a 4-day weekend, just getting back up-to-speed.

Bad pun and Star Wars reference in one line of the survey. Bad form.

Pick one at a time please.

I've never been much of a Raven fan, so I really don't understand all the squee right now.

Tai Fighter is Tai's twitter moniker, the DJ was applied during the library rave.  So the pollster isn't combining Star Wars and puns...

You guys, you guys, I just figured it out.

Raven has figured out quantum physics and string theory at college, and will be able to conjure up a fresh bin of roasted coffee beans from an alternate universe CoD.  This is why she has come back in the nick of time!

One does not 'conjure up' such things.

We would have to locate an alternate uninverse in which CoD exists and the deal between Jim and Dora did not take place. Then steal the inventory from that universe's version of CoD.

Anybody got the power of 3 medium stars handy to open the portal? Plus the amount of enery needed to just to search the local universes to find a suitable one?

I'll stick with the lost face and re-arrange my roasting patterns for 2 stores.

Okay, I don't usually post here. I don't even lurk. My post count should give that away - and both of those were about 2 years ago. Just puttin' that out there.

I have, in essence, only stopped by to register my EXTREME and utter delight to see Raven in the comic again, as she is - if you hadn't sussed it out from anything I've said to this point - my absolute favorite character. I actually cheered a little when I saw her today.

Carry on, then.

Pintsize crashes the party and gives the Smif server a virus - 14 (24.1%)
Dora misses it so she can roast her beans (not a double entendre) - 21 (36.2%)
Everyone has waffles, and agree that they are a chill broakfast - 8 (13.8%)

Total Voters: 58

New poll to be up within the hour is now up.

When it comes down to it... quantum physics can have anything to do with anything.   Some of the more advanced probability mechanics and wave-theory...   you realize that EVERYTHING happens regardless of the choice you make.   You only see one branch of Reality at a time.

Cool stuff and a bit freakish too.    If Raven can wrap her head around it good for her.

Raven has always been one of the better characters.

Although, can't help but wonder just how many more Jeph actually needs - the plot has barely advanced since I last checked, but it's not surprising as no one can get much screen time.

Would anyone care to wildly speculate that Raven's re-appearance will prevent a Tai-Dora Singularity forming? And does Raven even know about the break-up?

I'd reached halfway through panel two before I was all "wait, what?" and realised it was Raven. That was unexpected, to say the least.

I'm not sure if CoD would have any job positions left, considering that Hannelore and Cosette have been hired since Raven left. The deal with TSB won't create any more jobs, since Dora keeps her roasting process a secret and the baked goods are delivered by Elliot rather than needing collection. I think Raven may end up disappointed...

But will Dora have time for her own shift now she has to do double the roasting?

So...how long before Tai starts hitting on Raven?

Have Raven and Hannelore ever met before this? I can't think of any strip that has them interacting.

And because I want to be one of the cool kids, yes I am happy to see Raven again  :-)

I....want to err on the side of caution and say....maybe. I'm not ready to go on an archive binge to confirm this, but....I think Raven and Hanners have met at least once. A long, long time ago.

Sven.

Raven had the hots for Sven.

If she had shown interest in Marten during the pre-#500 era, Faye and Dora would have murdered her.

Are you confusing with the time that Raven threatened Faye and Penny over Sven, or the time that Faye threatened Ellen for speaking to Marten after she had broken up with Steve one time?

Marten and Raven? Mmmmh, while I suppose it's not totally implausible, somehow I find it doesn't... resonate, so to say. Let me explore the idea.

We've never seen Raven manifest this kind of interest towards Marten - although it could have been out of self-preservation, with Dora and Faye around.
She helped Dora make her move at Marten.
She never seemed to have any interest in commitment, but she may have evolved on that respect.

Marten confessed having sometimes fantasized about Raven, but it's not quite constitutive of an significant attraction.
Other than that, he didn't show any special interest to her.
Then again, at the time, he was with Dora, and before that he was in a position that... didn't need to get more complicated than it already was.

Ultimately, it's just their respective characters: I don't find they spark. I see nothing coming between those two.
At least romantically.

On purely carnal standpoint, I can see more of something.
Raven is not known to be shy about these matters, in a pretty open and non-devious way - the latter point making it possible for her to have second thoughts, out of her friendship with Dora, even if she was interested.
Marten, as mentioned above, has fantasized about Raven in the past, but he doesn't seem to feel comfortable with casual sex. How he would react if she threw herself at him is an interesting matter for speculation.

Still, really, I don't really see them as any kind of item, although I admit it's not impossible. And hey, it's just me.

Raven always had the hots for Sven. She always knew Dora had the hots for Marten, so she suggested Dora "spring a sexy trap" for him. However, Marten let it slip that he had "wandering eyes" for Raven.

...oh, this could be FUN.

Raven and Cosette walk towards the dome....and both trip up on the way there, knocking themselves out. By the time they come to, Dora's given the job to someone competent and gone out for lunch.

Ha, well played.  But I can't steal from Futurama, so I'll add in something similar.

Raven should become Marten's coworker at the SMIF library.

That is all.

In QC History, Marten has shown romantic interest in 4 females.
One he broke up with years ago.
One he recently broke up with.
One who was off-limits and now has a boyfriend.
and One who has mutual attraction to him, and is either missing, or eaten by an allosaurus.

Considering Pizza Girl and Raven's recent reappearances, I don't find Return of Sara THAT unlikely.

Dora's fuse is lit and Faye's juggling a Dixie cup of gasoline.

Man, Dora's getting awfully damn mouthy for someone who's 100% responsible for the currently ongoing clusterfuck.

"...we had problems with our roaster" could be taken as meaning problems with Dora, in which case it would not be lying to the customers.

The Pugnacious Peach is going out of her way to push Dorabuttons.

If things keep going like this, there may be an opening at CoD for Raven after all.
