Obligatory E3 2011 Thread

So far, Microsoft is pimping out the Kinect in dumb ways, ripping off the Wii's stuff (Miis, Wii Sports).

Also Halo 4 was announced. Like that was not going to happen.

Overstrike and Brothers in Arms: Furious Four both look awesome and funny, I can't wait to get my hands on those. Also drooling over the PSVita and the Sony 3D monitor.

Oh sheet and the price of the PSVita is about $100 LESS than rumoured, so it's on an even standpoint with the 3DS at launch. That was a surprise!

Did you see the short demo footage they had?  Guy was walking past a couple 4-tusked mammoths being herded by a giant, and decided on a whim to hit the mammoth.  Mammoth got pissy, and so did the giant shepherd, and they started wailing on the player.  Shortly after this happens, a dragon comes and flings that fucking giant into the sky.

The coolest thing to come from Microsoft wasn't even in the presser; they announced some kind of cloud storage for game saves and marketplace whatnot.  Live TV could also be pretty cool, because it might mean I won't have to cough up 80 bucks a month for cable TV that I don't watch most of and could justify my refusal to do so thus far.

hehe I dont care still looks fun in the game play trailers ive seen to.  :-D

I was not really interested in Skyrim until now.  Scott howard, one of the Devs present at E3 has swayed me.  I am excited for this game.
finally an Elder scroll game I can play that has dual wielding weapons and spells.  not to mention go dragon hunting.

Eh, Bethesda will probably laugh it off and say "Very clever. Well done, good sirs."

Now if it was Take 2 Interactive....then Magicka's folks would be slapped with a DMCA notice and be out of business.

I'd much rather be paying licensing fees to Activision than to a mercenary group with a history of killing non-combatants and being used as oppressive arm of authoritarian regimes like the U.A.E and the U.S.A.

well one of the Devs for Star Wars: The Old Republic said the game is planned to be released sometime in 2011.  Since they havnt done a beta yet I am guessing late fall or christmas.  He also said that most of the game is done, the servers are up and running, and that they are pretty much working on the bugs and polish.  My guess is they will announce when open beta starts when they get their spotlight this thursday at E3 or perhaps their slated release date.  I think this is the only MMO i am excited for after quitting WoW.

there is so much ridiculous(ly awesome) stuff coming out of all this, i don't even know. brief summary of my thoughts on what i've seen so far (aka Not Much)

that CG Assassin's Creed: Revelations trailer was fucking magical

Far Cry 3 also looks magical, but will probably not be any fun (fingers crossed that i'm wrong!)

that new Wii thing doesn't make any sense to me

i don't care about battlefield

SKYYYYYRIIIIIMMMMMM

that's pretty much it. i haven't been paying super close attention because my work internet is fucked up right now and that's where i do most of my aimless browsing

Hitman: Absolution

After a very short discussion I'm thinking the woman in the trailer is Diana. I imagine 47 did not take the events of Blood Money too kindly.

Fuck! My PS3 YLoDed again and I was all set to just say "Fuck it" and not fix it and now ZOE2 is getting an HD re-release?

That was one of my favorite games on the PS2 (by the end of the game you had basically been trained by it to have damn near reptile reflexes on the controls and were all set to kick the final boss's ass).

Honestly, the only one of those I really care about is the composer.

I know some folks were a concerned about what the gameplay demo showed, but I am honestly not that worried based on it being more action oriented. They probably just wanted to show off more of the engine and really, action is the best way to do so. I also like that they added in Instinct mode. It makes sense for 47 and it's much better than having to switch back and forth between the map.
