well, it seems Magicka was a tremendous waste of money. i can't play the thing. not because it won't run, but because i can't cast any fucking spells.

i'm doing the tutorial and no matter how i configure the controls, i can't cast spells except on myself. oh yeah and you have to exit the game and go back to the main menu to change your fucking controls. yes, seriously. so i've started and quit the tutorial about ten times now just trying to get the controls to work...but they don't.

Middle mouse button is a self-cast, right-click is a regular spell cast, and shift clicking does an AoE move.

Magicka is fucking hard. Playing it with three others probably the best coop experience I've ever had, though. Getting your head around the controls takes a while (remembering the middle mouse button self cast is tricky in the middle of the fray), but once you have them down, it becomes a very skill-focused game. Just be aware that you will die a lot, mostly from friendly fire.

I tried the demo and decided I neither have sufficient patience nor sufficient friends to make it worth playing.

i've done a bit of googling, trying to see if anybody has had the same problem as me, but i have found zero instances of this problem anywhere else. i feel like the Columbus of video game bugs, all exploring uncharted territory and shit

Side note, I bought Fallout and Fallout  2 during the sale and when I load up the first one it looks terribly glitchy during the cutscenes and the whole screen is black during the gameplay. Is there a fix?

There's both official and fan-made patches for gameplay bugs, but I have no ideas about glitches.
