This post has absolutely nothing to do with anything at all. I just want to point that out. It's only a test of my new bluetooth keyboard.

There's your random for the day.

they take a picture of it standing before it with no zoom, and with every step back they zoom in to keep the object the same size but changing the fore- and background.

I'm sorry, I got mixed up between this thread and the random one.

Ah, I see. I may be stealing what I've learned for a film I'm making then because it's a class effect.

They use the inverse effect a lot in horror films and such, where the character's face stays in the same position and size in the frame but the background appears to be closing in behind them.

In the 1950s I used to spray DDT around the kitchen, using a hand-pumped sprayer like this:

I used one in Bombay in the late 1960s, for the roaches that lived under the kitchen sink and the other colony that lived in the intricately folded corrugated cardboard bookcases provided filled with paperbacks from the Peace Corps. And in a nearby restaurant, we pulled drinking straws out of a glass container, then noticed a 1/4 inch of a yellowish liquid in the bottom. I'm sure it was DDT.

On the occasions when we eat at the table all proper, sometimes the cat sits in an empty chair like that.  Head peeking over the table.  He likes to be a part of it.  I am ok with it because he never tries to get on the table, and it is nicer than having him begging for scraps at our feet.

Also, it is adorable.  HE THINKS HE IS PEOPLE>

One of our cats perches on the back of my daughter's wheelchair and peeks over her shoulder, rather like a pirate's parrot.  She feeds it from her dinner.

Our cat loves canned green beans... and cucumbers, and potato chips, and crackers, and spicy food, and, most of all, watermelon.  The sound of a watermelon being cut in half with wake him up and send him trotting across the house trilling and chirping.

My cats love drinking from the tap. They're not quite that bad, but Yuki will get the side of his face wet trying to drink. Percy just misses the water half the time.

A stray cat I'd taken in years ago used to like olives. They were like catnip for her. Feed her one and she'd go nuts.

Yes.

In cat related news, my cat loves rice pudding.  He goes mad for it.  He also loves all kinds of crackers, to the extent that he'll steal them from my lips as I'm about to bite down on them.

Yay kitties! Perfect for a Monday morning :-)

Fuzz loves to drink from the faucet- it's pretty impossible to get her to drink water unless it's running. We bought her one of those fancy $40 cat fountains though and it works like a charm! We have a LOT less cat hair in the bathroom sink now too.  :-D

She doesn't eat anything too exciting....won't touch it unless it's meat or dairy. Loves bacon, chicken, ham, beef, ice cream, sour cream and cheese though. Caught her once stealing and licking a cheeto. The funniest food related incident I remember was when she hopped up on the coffee table, bit the corner of an open bag of those gummy octopus things and carried it into the kitchen.
