I honestly didn't thought about the male version until you commented on it...Ask yourself why exactly you ascribed the "Now I can get fat" thought to the woman, as I am sure the creator of the captioned image intended, and why both of you thought it was funny. What sort of assumptions about women's body-image, goals, and general place in society, are involved in that kind of humour? In my original comment, I flipped the assumptions around to draw attention to them, in a light-hearted way, and to the low-level misogynism involved in the joke. I mean, we’ve all dreamt of blow-drying our balls out in the open, but you’re actually doing it in front of me and at least sixteen other people that just finished exercising at this pricey sports club. Some of us will do it in private in our homes, or in a hotel room using a hairdryer a stranger might have just used to style their hair for that big business meeting in Denver. But not you. You are not confined to such social norms, norms that usually keep flapping, flag-like balls out of my eyes.
Does the courage to do this in public come with age? Perhaps it’s something a young man like me can’t understand. But you, you are on in years; gray and spotted like a ham in a paintball fight. Your scrotum reminds me of boardwalk taffy. Maybe you’ve been building up to this day your whole life and I’m witnessing the birth of a phoenix. You are no longer a man that blow-dries his balls in secret. You have transcended that station and now fall into an elite group of Spartans that blow-dry their balls wherever they God damn please. Well, mainly because washing clothes takes time (as does rebuilding a crease), the dryers don't always work, and since it was 100 degrees and 80%+ humidity there everyday, washing the sweat and stench out was pretty much pointless when those fresh clothes were back to being just as grody as they were within hours (sometimes minutes) of washing.

dawww I just felt that the episode showed what kind of conflicts they will have in their relationship eventually. As to the "is she evil?" question the episode asked, I am not sure. Hm. You have to click about 15 times on the round part of the lollipop next to the merchant, I think. He first tells you to stop it because other people might want to buy it, then he starts lowering the price and then at 50 candies he says he can't go any lower. As for his hat...I don't know why it didn't work, you only have to do it 3 or four times, IIRC.

What I find weird is the differing responses to "an unmarried woman having a baby" (67% approve) and "having a baby outside of marriage" (60% approve). Unless people are assuming that the second one implies that the baby is the result of an extramarital affair, since that gets a bad rating (6% approve) while in general sex outside of marriage is okay (63% approve).

Detroit is not without its problems. I'm not trying to say that it is operating as a model city right now. They have a $300 million deficit and nearly $20 billion in debt. The city has an emergency financial manager, though technically, Detroit did not declare a fiscal emergency, the State of Michigan declared one for them under an outrageous law that was voted down by the people of Michigan last November. Crime is high and there are neighborhoods with more abandoned buildings than occupied ones.
But there is nothing more offensive then someone declaring that because of these problems the city should just be abandoned. Detroit has a lot going for it, a number of companies have opened offices downtown and are attracting people back to the city. Unemployment in the city proper is under %10 for the first time in 5 years and the deal with Canada to build a new bridge will create even more jobs. Detroit suffers from a small population spread over a large area (for scale, the land area of Detroit is almost 3 times that of Boston), but within that area, there are numerous awesome neighborhoods. There are a bunch of people in and around the city who love and care about Detroit's future. The city recently cut its parks department, and you know what? Residents volunteered to mow the lawns and pick up trash in city parks.
I don't have a problem with people talking about Detroit's problems, but I do think it is harmful to the city's future when negative things are all anyone sees about the city. And I am certainly offended when someone suggests that the city just be abandoned and its residents rounded up and forced to move somewhere else, as though the city had nothing to offer and it's citizens had no rights. Lots of places in the world suck, it's not clever, or funny, or helpful to just declare them hopeless shitholes, and advocate for their destruction.

See this doesn't come across to someone who is just looking at the images and doesn't know the long running references in British comedy or the context in the show itself. A cis-male is the opposite of a trans-male. Cis-gender means that your perceived gender is in accordance with your sex. If I remember correctly, the word "cis" is the opposite of the word "trans", and seeing as transgender people are being labelled as trans, cisgender people are labelled cis.I...don't get it.

China is only mentioned with he rape of Nanking which prompted the US to cut exports to japan (which in turn lead to the japanese attacking the US). Mind you this is just what I remember in highschool. College is VERY different and outs to teach everything about everything (even took an entire class on the Chinese revolutions in the 20th century myself) and being a history buff I know waaaayyy more than they teach in high school.
