So I asked hodges to change my name just to Gareth, in the same way as Pat used to be KimJongSick and is now just Patrick.

This is a nifty thread :-) Thanks for starting it, Gareth.

And nice to re-meet everyone!

I'm lepetitfromage aka Kim. 27, living in Poughkeepsie, NY. Don't exactly remember how I came up with this name, but I know I started using it to sign artwork before it turned into my online moniker. Plus, I just needed something a little less....cutesy (my prior screen name was abstractangel). I played around with bravelittletoasterstrudel for a while, but it was a bit too long IMO. Currently working at a crappy office job (been here for 4 years....ugh), dreaming of a career in art education and doin' crafty stuff in the meantime to maintain my sanity. I'm engaged to Nick- my goofy nerd, my teammate....my rock, really. He knows me better than anyone else and manages to not only handle my Crazy but help me come to terms with it as well  :-D We live with out cat (Fuzz) and our guinea pig (Rocko). Rocko's buddy Spunky passed away in October. RIP little dude

Started posting in the forums roughly 2 years ago (my two year anniversary is in a couple weeks! whaaaaat). I was reading the comic for about a year, started lurking around and then finally signed up when I got a feel for how things work around here. I started posting in the WCDT but eventually made my way into the Chatter section and now I generally stay down here. Much less snark and bickering (although the mods do indeed do a fabulous job making sure it doesn't escalate to more than that- good job, mods!). It's a tad amusing to me that people are more emotionally charged when speaking about fictional characters than they are about their own lives.

I typically hang out in the blog thread, the foodie thread and the P&D thread. I post a lot about my brain and how it works because A) It's fascinating to me and B) I think talking about mental health stuff is healing, helpful and a great release. I like to feel that I'm doing my part to break down the stigma of mental illness while helping others battle their own brains as well. Sometimes I worry that my posts come off as self-centered because I talk about myself a lot but then most of the people here knock some sense into me. Because, y'know....that whole thing with relating to other people through experiences and such. Forums are pretty good for that. I've posted on a few others before but it was a loooooooong time ago and they were never interesting enough to hold my attention for very long. The people in this forum have really been wonderful and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have "met" you guys. I never imagined that I would find a place like this amongst the sea of idiots on the interweb. I'm very grateful for all of the things that I've gotten through with the help of the forumites and I sincerely hope that some of the advice I've given has helped some of you as well. I've learned so much about each of you and in turn, have learned quite a bit about myself as well. Plus...you're all a LOT of fun. :-)

Blah, blah, blah, more mushy love-y, hippie stuff.....I'll not bore you any longer hahaha. Have some photos instead!

I always read your name like the Sabres player who had the surname Satan. That is, I pronounce it paper-shuh-ton

I wanted that dude's jersey so bad when he spent half a season in Boston. Booo.

Hello, thread. I am Shane, and I have been around these parts since like, 2005? A long time. I have met some of you, and some of you have met me. I once left an old forumite on a couch at a sorority house once because I was too drunk to figure out anything otherwise. Dark days, bros.

I am 25, and live in the northwestern corner of Massachusetts. I went to college for a while, until I couldn't afford it. Now I'm not really sure what I do. I'd like to run a record store someday.

This is me. On the right. On the left is Frank Turner. A nice English lad who's good at writing songs.

This is also me. Also my girlfriend. She goes to photography school. And we both like hockey. Although, she likes Pittsburgh and I like Boston.

I've noticed people are shortening my name as "idu", "idont" "IDU" etc. It feels retarded to me, so I'm stepping out.

I'm Karl, pleased to meet you. Jag är Svensk. 26 years old.

I like playing and listening to music and also boxing.

I'm pretty skinny, but also pretty strong. I can't sing.

I've got a master's degree in law, but haven't found any use for it yet.

Honestly? Mostly because I couldn't face dealing with the fallout from my relationship status changing. I was thinking about how awful it was going to be, having to see xB on facebook all over the place (we're part of several of the same groups) and I suddenly realised that there weren't many very good reasons to be on there any more, and it might help my degree if I weren't. I miss it slightly, but only slightly. I expect I'll reactivate at some point in the future, but it certainly won't be until I've stopped crying myself to sleep.

Howdy folks,

I joined the forum back in 2006. I was always mostly a lurker but lately I haven't even been doing that.
The reason I'm going to at least attempt to lurk more is to keep in touch with Linds, May, Kat, Stephen, and whoever else is still around from the olden days. In the meantime I'm sure that I'll get to know some new folk.

This is me from a few years back. It's one of my favorite pictures of me. We're sitting in a barrestaurant discussing the Dark Heresy campaign I was starting. I am obviously explaining something to someone. There's even a chance I was right!

Here's a more recent one taken in November. I'm wearing a Toowoomba City Rollers shirt. The Toowoomba City Rollers is a derby team that another forumite is on. (Note: I live no where near Toowoomba) (also note that Toowoomba is fun to say and to type)

Hello. I am blanktom...or just Thom (although I started using the 'h' in my name in like 2008 and I have been a member on here since 2005. holy shit).

I am 25 (coming up to 26) and I co-manage a rather hipster friendly pub in the fine city of Norwich, England. I like nearly everything media based (music, television, films), both high and low brow, and play Xbox games. I kinda lurk a bit on these forums, so my post count/time I've been a member ratio is way off, but I am on here nearly every day. It's mainly cos I'm a lazy typer so don't like replying to shit unless I have something I feel is worth posting.

I basically joined the forums because I was reading the comic and when I checked it out everyone on here seemed pretty cool, but it's worth giving special mention to Shane (valley_parade) who I've decided is my QC Forums best bro. One day I am going to go see him in MA and I will show him how awesome I am at trivia.

I guess I better add a photo. I never usually look this cool, and genuinely only took this photo to send to my best friend who wanted to see my new sunglasses.

Sideburns are for the summer, this far more accurate yet far more fat revealing photo shows what I do when winter comes;

Also if anyone wants to be facebook buddies I am down with that, my life is a pretty open book (albeit a moderately offensive and slightly grumpy one). My surname is Hollyer.

I don't have a post in this thread! Great idea to sticky it though.

Anyway, I'm Kristin (or Kris if you want, most English speaking folks call me that). I'm a soon-to-be 25 year old from Norway, but I live in Glasgow, Scotland because I study art here, I'm in my final year now and it's a tiny bit stressful. I joined this forum in 2008 when my brother (Jeans) suggested it for me, and I've been here on and off since, with a hiatus for a couple years recently. I've met quite a few people from this forum in real life, including Barmymoo, Linds, ackblom12 and papersatan, and they're all nice people, so it's nice to be back.

This is what I looked like about 1 minute ago:

I joined in 2005  when I was having a year off school after back surgery. At one point I was the undisputed leader of the "Most time spent online" list (I just checked and I am still #2 even though I haven't been on here for years). I live in Sydney, Australia, live with my boyfriend est (he's an admin here but hasn't been around for a fair while) and our two idiot cats. I have come back to this place because my work has been SO BORING lately that I used up all the interesting sites I normally frequent and remembered about this place.

Here's a photo of me being a doofus in Melbourne in June:

It's a fur-lined coat. She must be.

I have been informed that it actually does get cold in Australia. But their definition of cold is probably different than people like me, who get snow (sometimes), and mine is different than people who, say, are from Norway, like Kris. And then there's those crazy people who visit Antarctica. I'm sure they know what cold really feels like.

Unless you're flirting, in which case...

Actually my definition of cold is anything below 10C, I have no tolerance for it. I'm a terrible Norwegian, I do much better in hot weather.

... So naturally I moved to Scotland.

I recommend Brazil instead of Scotland... I was at our collaborator's lab at the University of Sao Paulo a couple years ago. The lab is almost the only air-conditioned building in the city, so I didn't mind spending time there when it was 35C and humid outside. The AC was set to 19C. I would be wearing shorts and a T-shirt, and the Brazilians wore winter coats in the lab.  :psyduck:

Well, obviously.

Umm, introduction. Hi, I'm ChaoSera, or Daniel, if you prefer the more personal touch. I only joined here somewhere earlier this year (I think May?) but I'll still post here, because I'm a rebel or something. Right.
I'm currently 22 years old, doing my Bachelor's in Computer Science, specializing in Embedded System and Microrobotics, and I work part-time as a Software Developer. So as you can see, I'm a giant nerd. Also I'm from Germany. A German nerd. Yes, that's me. I have yet to meet anybody from this forum, but I'd like to sometime.
If I find a recent picture of me that I like enough, I might post it here.

Seeing as you're not the only giant German nerd, and we have several in this forum, we should definitely meet up.
