Really? I've seen it now and then on the Web. But I just looked it up and apparently it should only be properly used as a collective for all French people, with no singular, so, yeah, I should have said "as a Frenchman", I guess. Or "a Frenchperson" if I bothered to be gender-unspecific.

I lived for 3 years when I was young in one of the most northerly towns in Ontario. Probably only one city over 10,000 within 3 hours drive. Of course, it was on the trans Canada, so it was still accessible.

I grew up, though, at the intersection of the two trans Canadas in Ontario. Well, one of the intersections.

I now live in one of Canada's 5 largest cities.

The only way anyone would have heard of my hometown is from looking at manhole covers or storm drains, we make a lot of them!
Seriously, take a look next time you're outside. I'm curious how far away I can find one. It would say either "East Jordan Iron Works" or "EJIW" or "EJ"

Seriously though, it depends on where you're going. Here in Melbourne, the weather gets really temperamental - a lot of wind and a lot of rain, only occasionally at the same time.
