just logged in, but I don't have a mic.  I'd like to get one, but have no idea what kind or how to even hook it up.  I've been trying to rig something up with my xbox mic.  I wish I could join in the singing!

eta: ack, I hope it wasn't weird that I was pretty much just listening - I was sure I'd be able to make my xbox headset work.  Still, it was neat to hear some of you!

at least drunk Noyan had the common decency to take painkillers before he went to sleep, so this is not Hangover Noyan you're talking to.

xbox headset should be able to work, almost every microsoft product works plug n play with windows. If not the local wal mart has mic/headphone combos for like $10-15

Drunk Noyan is the cutest.

And henri, have you checked the levels of your microphone, when it's plugged in? Mine will randomly mute itself.

Might as well join soon. My father was supposed to call me today, so I can't leave the house till he calls. Which I seriously doubt right now. I wanted to go the hackerspace, but I think I can forget about that now.

Sorry for my intermittent online-ness and my general non-talky-ness. Family is being an assbutt. Even if they do have a point in what they're saying, the assbuttiness abounds.

How do you see faces through audio? Is it like the blind girl feeling-up your face, but with sounds? Like, next time I'm on should I rustle my beard against the microphone?

Before anybody complains: I'm currently in the process of upgrading the server the mumble-server is running on from Debian Squeeze to Debian Wheezy. Please be patient, it shouldn't take long.
