Thanks guys! It will fade a little as it heals. Tattoos are always brighter and more colorful when they're initially done. Solid black rarely stays nearly that dark.

There's a tattoo thread on one of the other forums that I visit and there's been a lot of dot work being posted there. It's the sort of thing that really tempts me.

I find this sort of work really beautiful.

My concern with dot work like that is that it will fade in a couple years - and even just a little fading will make that rose practically invisible.

True, but then the transience opens up the opportunity to develop and change the artwork over time. It's a dimension that is rarely explored in tattooing.

For instance, I could see this piece evolving and shifting around the base points in a way that isn't available with coverups.

Having no sunlight on them kinda helps.  An old friend of mine didn't have any done in this style, but even the ink she had gotten done years before was perfectly bright, because she didn't expose any part of her body with art on it to the evil day star.

Dot work is really incredible. I'd get a piece done entirely in it if it weren't for fading/bleeding issues. It would really lend itself to the style of 19th century book illustrations </geekout>

To know what the Enemy is thinking?

Read the About section on ROK and then all you'll ever need to do is read the link title to know what kind of cliched and predictable shit they're thinking. It's always the same, it's always vile and risible nonsense that makes the thinking of Matthew Hopkins enlightened and progressive. Every time you click on one of their links they get money, plain and simple. All the money that they get goes directly towards supporting their dismal lifestyles and perpetuating their message to the impressionable and emotionally vulnerable.

If you really feel you must read what they're writing then at least have the descency to lob a grep script at the site to hive off a text only feed so they don't get paid.

I'm still waiting for Roosh V to publicly announce he's been making all this shit up to see what kind of losers would actually fall for it, and he's horrified, and they'll be super embarrassed and go disappear in a giant hole in the ground and then Roosh V will apologise for doing such a stupid thing in the first place and he'll disappear too, and everyone else lives happily ever after.
