Yeah those US plugs look really flimsy, our plugs are cylindrical so bending them doesn't happen easily.
Australian plugs are not as sturdy as UK ones which 1) are rated to 13A* rather than the 10A standard here and 2) use the earth (ground) pin to engage mechanically with a cam that pushes open a protective shutter over the live and neutral. This is what Aussie plugs and sockets (receptacles) look like:

*There is an urban legend that 13A is the standard in the UK to allow electric kettles powerful enough to boil enough water for a pot of tea within the time taken for a commercial break on TV.

Imgur is only able to host files like these because they reformat them into videos... but the direct links are still the giant gif files.

Who decided gifs were the best way to share short video?

Clenching doesn't bend plugs, it just makes them thinner at that point

...are bending plugs a real problem?
I suppose it's a matter of perspective, I'd say clenching too much is the real problem here.

Peristalsis is a radially symmetrical contraction and relaxation of muscles that propagate in a wave down a tube, in an anterograde direction.

AKA bowel movement, or also how earthworms move.

From http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-32144005

Quote
10. A US entrepreneur has pledged to rid China of "farcical" western names such as Lady Gaga, Elvis and Washing Liquid. Chinese people commonly take a "yingwen ming" or "English name" to help Anglophone employers address them. But often these result in them being "laughed at behind their backs" when they choose such monikers as Furry, Twinkle, Pussy or Volcano, says businesswoman Lindsay Jernigan, who has launched a website to help Mandarin speakers adopt more suitable titles.

This person needs to be stopped. Right now. I can only imagine how awesome my life would have been if my parents had called me Volcano.

So I remember seeing this about a year or so ago and it really spoke to me.  It made me want to write my own G-man/MiB type story.

So last night I was struck by some inspiration and couldn't sleep.  I stayed up for a couple of hours and finally put pencil to paper and wrote a very rough draft of an interrogation scene with a witness.  The idea was to make it the prologue.  I may comb through it and smooth it out today.
