I buy games so rarely that I am glad for a deep one so I don't feel like I wasted my money. When you turn around a COD single player campaign inside of 8 hours but I'm on something like my 400th hour on New Vegas...

I recently discovered that Skyrim can run (albeit barely and sometimes hilariously badly) on my laptop. I am now charging around burninating faces like it's going out of style. I logged about 60+ hours on it back when it was first released on the 360, but never got around to finishing the game. This time, I might actually manage it.

I'm sort of amused by the idea of someone mid-battle going "wait, hold up!" and chugging a whole metric arseload of potions.

III felt like too many different games rolled into one, especially with the naval stuff. with IV it's seamless, the on land and naval stuff work together perfectly and it actually feels like a proper open world game. But yeah, I do get what de la Nae was getting at.

That reminds me of a mod that a Spanish youtuber found that turned arrows into giant pink dildos and dragons into giant ponys from MLP.

If you caught my reference on the last WCDT you might think I'm a big pinball fan. I kind of am, but that table never made it to a bar near me. What I do have is the free to play Pinball Arcade game, which is widely regarded as a great pinball simulation, at least as far as a computer can sim a pinball table. Tales of Arabian Nights comes as free table and then you have the season packs (Now at S4). Many great tables available to purchase like Twilight Zone, The Addams Family, Big Shot, Black Hole, all 3 pin*bot tables and the referenced in the post Dr. Dude.

As of right now, I'm trying to master Twilight Zone, after having mastered Black Hole and Taxi (although I don't have the Taxi Wizard award because the one game I did everything I hadn't unlocked the Wizard Goals). As of right now, I can only safely grab hitchhikers :/

Note: Every single table is playable up to the lowest high-score (which sometimes is 4 and sometimes is 5) for free. And Cirqus Voltaire is crazy hard. Also, a single table gets put for free on rotation each month (I mastered Taxi during its free period), which this month (basically until the end of this week) is High Roller Casino.

Coincidentally, next month's free table is Cirqus Voltaire. Oh god you poor sons of bitches. But it looks extra pretty on the DX11 beta, and the massive neon lighter is randomized every time you load up the table. Seriously.

Finals season comes, so obviously it is time for me to take up borderlands again. Trying to get down OP8 Digistruct Peak at least once every night. I'm pretty sure it's possible with my gear and build and I'm almost positive I actually can do it, but there's something some large instance of bait right before the first boss. Assuming it's because it's 2015 and bait is at an all time high.

But I have a perfect Sawbar now. That thing is nice.

Most definitely, widely regarded as one of the nicest guys in wrestling. Has the same kind of Foley type grassroots support too, or at least used to.

Thrillho is correct. Personal anecdote, I know someone who gave Daniel Bryan a drawing they made at Axxess, one of the meet and greets, and then saw photos of him holding the tube they gave him when he was going back to his hotel. Not super amazing but as an artist and RASSLIN' fan it gives me warm fuzzies.

He left WWE for TNA a few years ago, 2009 or so, where he cut a pretty great promo about Samoa Joe, then went onto commentary, and was absolutely terrible.

Yes, worse than Don West.

Then at some point turned heel, then was ambiguous for a while, then TNA got dropped from Spike and moved to Destination America and Taz left shortly after recording a couple of episodes doing commentary in what appeared to be Josh Matthews' mum's basement.

Now no-one knows where he is.

After all this talk about how great the Dark Souls series is, I finally snapped and bought the first one, Dark Souls.

And it really is a fucking aggravating, yet at the same time super fun game to play.

I just picked it up as well. I'd  heard about it, and was mildly interested but I don't play a lot of console games. Watching people do lets plays of Bloodborne though really really makes me want to play it... But I don't have a PS4 and I can't justify to myself dropping nearly $500 for a console and one game just to play it. The guys at the Extra Credits video site started doing a run through of the original Dark Souls though, and that prompted me to get it... $20 is much more reasonable. :)

You're right of course, nae. I just didn't want to confuse people.

Neko_Ali, that play through, and the obsessive love they have for the series is actually why I got the game as well. And to be honest, their approach to open world design is just amazing.

I'm enjoying it... And it really is fairly punishing. I had a bunch of trouble beating the first (mini) boss.. It got better when I borrowed my room mates wired controller to use on my computer though. It kind of makes me wish I had bought it for my console, but oh well.. instant steam gratification is addicting...

mmm, my trouble with it was more avoiding those huge sweeping attacks. If you get knocked down even once it's hard to get up and move in time to avoid the next hit, so it becomes cascading failure.

Back to NFSHP 2010 for I have been challenged by a friend and now I have to bop times.

EDIT: On second thought, owwie.

I know this edit is late, but basically a friend found a mod that brought the DLC content of the consoles into PC. With some tomfoolery we got the tracks to work for online leaderboards. The thing is, if you put the whole DLC pack, the game spazzed and let you choose any car at any track (this was fixable by copying the backup files, which made it so that only the tracks stayed). The friend who challenged me took on Wing and a Prayer (first round of the DLC pack) with a McLaren F1 and posted a time of 4:17 to my wall. I didn't know this, so when I did it with the car that's supposed to go on that event (Pagani Zonda Cinque) and set a 4:21, I didn't care. But I was reminded of that today and I went at it, for pride basically. Yes, I beat it and a 4:14 time decorates my (and his) leaderboard, but EVERYTHING HURTS. IT SHOULDN'T HURT THIS MUCH TO USE A GAMEPAD. OW.

Moral of the story is, don't try to beat a cheater (even if it's unintended cheating) following the rules.

To quote a stream title, I may have acquired some good. Been destroying my friends' times in NFSHP 2010 for a while now. I've been deemed unreachable on certain TA runs where my run wasn't good and I have a 56 second difference on a 40km race with Lambos. I'm closer to WR than my friend is from me. I even got a 12:32 run for Seacrest Tour that I now consider ass because I hit a car in the middle of a highway.

Yet on The Art of Driving the 7-gear Auto that all cars in the game have for a transmission* has brought my time to normal. And I don't like that.

So a few of my friends visited this weekend, and they brought with them a PS3 with Diablo III on it. We completed the main quest and the expansion act in the space of four days.

This was partly because they skipped ALL the exposition at the start despite my protestations, so by the time they actually listened to me I already had no fucking clue what was going on - although honestly I got the sense story was not this game's strong point anyway.

The other day I thought of (or remembered. No idea if I stole this from somewhere) the pun 'The Magnificent Steven.' I wanted to call my character that, but I also felt like being an internet douchebag so I tried to call my character MagnificentSteven69420nWo4lifeDXOFWGKTA.

Then I found it had a 12 character limit, so even 'MagnificentSteven' was too long (WHY WOULD IT LET ME ENTER MORE IF THERE WAS A LIMIT stupid game) so I ended up being mGnFcNtStVn. And once I had enough money, I bought 420 health potions, and refused to use any of them. If I picked up another one, I dropped it for my buddies. I am that obtuse. If I ever get to level 69 (of 70 available) I guess I have to start a new character!

It was quite fun, eventually. I enjoyed it, but largely because of the bonding experience with my friends.

This is the kind of game I would never play on my own, I just enjoyed it for playing through with my friends, supporting each other, screwing each other over, just having a laugh and actually playing a game with people in the SAME ROOM for once, so that was nice.

There was zero difficulty curve, even though we kept cranking it up every time the difficulty could be increased. We only actually all died on one occasion, and that was on the final boss on the expansion act, who after a shitload of easy minions was rock fucking hard and kept killing all of us. I even had to use health potions and ended up with 407 after we beat him, which we did on only our second try, because what the fuck this game is easy. It's also one of the only parts I actually enjoyed for the game rather than for playing it with my friends, because it was hard. One other early boss wasn't hard, but at least took concentration - The Butcher. I can't remember my tactic, but the environmental obstacles and the way he telegraphed his attacks meant that it was tough to beat him, but not impossible. That was some great game design - it just lacked that at basically all other times.

I do not care for this kind of game. It amounted to, basically, 'hammer X until you win.' While all games are essentially that, the games I like usually require more effort than that to achieve. It was bordering on being a Quicktime event game.

Once I could customise my appearance, I went all pink (as I do on any game where I can customise things) but once we beat the final chapter, I dyed all my different clothing items different colours so that now I look AWFUL.

Overall, I had a blast, and it's cool that we managed to finish it. It showed me one of the things that video games originally were about for me, which is bonding with the people I care about most.

So yeah.. Mostly of late I've been playing even more Fallout. I have a character in New Vegas who is near the top level and is God Lord Death of the Wasteland.. nearly 100 in stats. I'm not sure how I got it this early. Probably because of the android race mod I was using. It let me swap skill points around at the start, but I think it gave more than it took... That any my habit of cranking up skill points per level means I get 17 points every time I level up and 4 points per book found...

I've also been playing Fallout: Dust. Though I keep dying (no, really?) so I haven't got very far on it. Mostly though I've been playing Fallout 3... In the Fallout NV engine. A huge conversion mod called Tales of Two Wastelands combines both DC and the Mohave into one game. You need to have legit copies of both FO3 and FONV and all of the DLC for each, but it works. And it's everything I've wanted. I've always said I love the environment, setting and story of DC so much more than the Mohave. But the mechanics upgrades added in NV were great. Well, this mod pack delivers both. And lets you play through both games entirely with one character. There is a train station in the DC ruins that lets you travel between the coasts. A bit crazy, that would never happen.. but you can just close your eyes and pretend... But basically you start off in  Vault 101 as usual as the Lone Wanderer and when you get tired of DC you can go to the Mohave and pick up a job as a Courier. And promptly get shot in the head, apparently.  I totally see this taking my time until November. Now if only I could play Fallout Shelter too...

When I'm not playing that, I've been fooling around with Elder Scrolls Online. Pretty fun. Not super great but fun. It's worth while now that it's buy to play with no subscription fees.

Still acquiring good. It's funny how the Carrera GT is so bad because of the ignoble transmission problems when just a tier below the 918 Spyder Concept is so beastly with exactly the same gear ratios.
