I played the original Civilization (and Civ2, and so on) as well, but I still think the newer versions are better.

A free steam game called Robocraft. It's awesome. You make a battle robot with blocks and cubes and prisms and stuff all minecraft style, then drive it in capture-the-base team battles. You play battles, earn tech points to unlock new blocks like faster wheels or hover blades or stronger cubes, and earn points to buy the stuff you unlock. I have sort of a drone gun platform thing with a radar jammer for stealth.

I'm replaying Fire Emblem 7 for like...the 4th time. Also trying to beat Fire Emblem Awakening, AND still squeeze in more sims 3 time. I need more hours in the day.

This is funny becuase I'm alternating between Fire Emblem: Awakening (I think I'm on Ch. 11 or so) and Sims 3. And I certainly wouldn't mind playing FE7 again... I miss the characters in there so much.

My boyfriend is also playing Awakening on his 3DS so I have someone to talk to about how awful my Kellam is turning out (compared to his awesome one) and how unhappy I am that I can't see Chrom's reaction when he learns that in my version of events, his sister gets with Vaike.

Still not sure who my avatar is going to marry... pretty sure he's still holding out for Ylisse to allow him and Chrom to marry and adopt children.

I tried Robocraft for a while, but I got too much of a pay-to-win feel from it.

Agree. Never played 3, but 4 seemed like it was pushing the envelope. 5 at first felt like a new build, some innovation, but very clunky and simple. I think they've added depth, but I'm not sure it's deeper or better than 4 yet.

SO with the upcoming Destiny, my gaming group's chant of 'Sell the Xbone Jeffrey, buy the PS4' has finally drilled through the ashamed pride of having bought it in the first place, and I'm seriously trying to find a buyer before september ninth. Hopefully I don't lose too much on it.

I would laugh if I could, but they all make such convincing arguments!! Which is weird, because usually whenever we get to meal time during a gaming session they all argue about what to eat for over an hour before finally deciding (Unless I'd decided for them). Or like that time we were going to the movies. . . then to bowling . . . then to Video Ezy to GET a movie. . . til finally 'twas hotdogs and monopoly at my place. And even then it took 20 minutes to decide who was the car.

I must really want a PS4.

Blackwell Legacy bundle. Finished two of four. They're from mid-2000's but done in old school point-and-click puzzle style. They're very short, even with resorting to the odd "click everything", they've not even taken me two hours each to finish. Sometimes there are times where you can see want the game will want you to do to solve a puzzle, but you have to do some stuff to get the character to figure it out before you can do it and that can be a bit frustrating.
For such short games though they manage to pack in a lot of story and I find the main characters really fun. Also because the main character in the first game looks a bit like Daria Morgendorffer, I like to pretend this is an alternate universe Daria.

Played the Choice of Deathless demo last night on Steam and fell in love with it. It boils down to a Choose Your Own Adventure e-book where you're some sort of wizard-lawyer hybrid. Pretty much immediately broke down and got the full game on sale for $2 (it's $3 retail, so not quite breaking the bank either way).

Anyone here heard of ZombiesMonstersRobots, or as it goes by ZMR? If you ever played horde mode in Gears of War and loved that, this is definitely a game for you.

The way it treats purchases will be REALLY off-putting though.

Borderlands! It has all the taste of MMO-like questing and looting with none of the calories of a mandatory internet connection and getting harassed by strangers! Friends entirely optional! Buy now!

I played the shit out of Borderlands, as did my dad, but when I got Borderlands 2 it was mainly for him and I didn't touch it for months. When I finally got around to trying it, I was bored within minutes. Then, after finishing my master's thesis I really needed something to take my mind off things, and the Borderlands 2 treadmill was ideal. So I played to level 20, which was when I finally got fed up with "go here, kill that" and juggling loot around, and stopped playing it entirely. It's a nice game, but enjoying it depends on either tolerating or ignoring the fact you're on a treadmill.

Currently I'm mainly playing Hearthstone, even though there are plenty of other games I'd like to play more, but I won't allow myself to spend big money* on anything now that my student financing has dried up. Oh well, there's always bundles!

*To me that means any one game that's five euros or more. If nothing else, the astounding devaluation of PC games is pretty good for my wallet.

Rotating between playing Fallen Enchantress and The Walking Dead Season 1.

I realised the other day that I hardly ever play 360 games anymore. I think part of it is that the TV it's attached to gets used fairly often, but there's something about playing on a laptop I find more appealing these days.
