Farcry 4

So is it worth it?  I loved the game play of Farcry 3 but the story was just so...lackluster by the end.  How is this one turning out and do you all like it?

Personally I find the setting fascinating. It's been many a year since I paid full price for a new game, but this one almost makes me want to.

The setting is great, the music that goes with that setting is even better. My roommate actually came over "Dude what are you playing? Is this Dragon Age? Because this is some epic quasi-mystical musi... this is Far Cry?"

Very rich characters and world. Pagan Minh is imho a better and scarier villain then Vas ever was... and there's lots of moral ambiguity in all the factions. The moral choices, actual moral choices mind you, with no "good vs. evil meter" sliding back and forth to tell you if you've been naughty, in the main story campaign missions, or rather which of the two rebel faction leader's missions you follow actually have some weight to them.

;)

Been watching roommate play a lot of this. I think she's more impressed than Far Cry 3.

Watching it means I've taken up Far Cry 3. Definitely wishing I had some of the improvements, like the corpses on minimap thing that they (smartly) ripped off from Red Dead Redemption.

Bow's been dialed back, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that's a good thing.

Go ahead and set that Honey Badger on fire, he still doesn't give a fuck.

Anyway, it's a better version of Far Cry 3 in a pretty sweet setting. Do it, if you haven't already.
