Simple: Walky told her mom she's in the bathroom, and Dorothy made her eat sushi, so her mom can be convinced that she's just been in the bathroom ever since then (you mean you fed her RAW FISH!?), hence why she never called back.

I'm a little puzzled that Joyce hasn't mentioned that Ethan didn't dumper her, she dumped Ethan.

But then she would have to explain why she dumped him, along with why she started going out with him in the first place when she already knew he was gay.  She's probably easing into the subject.

Joyce also never told the other two that are at the table that Ethan is gay. They know, of course, but Joyce never told them.

Which is you know, the right thing to do. Actually, has she told Becky that Ethan is gay? Of all the people there, she's the one seemingly most likely to not know. I was more under the impression that Becky was trying to push him away from Joyce because she still hopes Joyce will like girls.

So I randomly decided to click the "Dave Willis Sniffs Butts" link a few days ago.

Damn you, Willis. I have a life to attend to.

I had seen some of Shortpacked a few years ago, but it was kind of hard to break in with all the continuity baggage (plus I think it was around the time I found QC, so choices were made).

Now I have caught up with DoA, read all of Roomies (really neat to see the present-Willis commentary about past-Willis) and a bit of Walky. A bit weird to see the DoA characters in an older work (and they will be the "DoA characters" to me forever, since that's where I started), but still interesting.

And I have to say, using the same set of characters (and continuity, up to a point) in all your works is something pretty awesome.

Yeah, I was kind of annoyed that Sal and Jason (and Billie and Ruthless, earlier) were taking time away from Joyce & friends, but tonight's comic made it all worth it.

I liked them when they were arguing.  Not sure I like where this is going now.

I have a feeling Jason's about to get in trouble for being in a dorm room with a drunk student.  Stop asking annoying questions and leave, you silly git!

Who would give him trouble? Ruth? For being in a dorm room with a drunk student? She is likely drunk off her ass right now. With another drunk  student in her room.

Of course, I can see her attempting to kick Jason out and falling over from bwing drunk and Jason being "am I the only one who can hold his liquor?"

Would it even raise an eyebrow at the university to find a TA was having relations with a student? I mean, it should for all the obvious reasons. But considering a teacher pretty much flat out told Jason nobody there cares while throwing him out of her office to boink a student would seem to indicate it's a pretty indiscreet place in that regards... Not to mention it's most likely Sal who would be in trouble if she's underage, which I think she is. "What are you doing here?" "I stopped at the pub and found this student of mine half drunk, so I got her back to her dorm." Some people might not believe him.. but considering he can get the bartenders there to back him up likely that they didn't come in together and Sal was drinking before he showed he wouldn't get in trouble over it.

New storyline...

I'm not too sure what that exactly means, though? I picked up DoA some months ago, right when Becky showed up at Joyce's door, and I haven't been able to really dig through the archives yet.

The print books are divided into chapters. That's all it means. If you're a comic book reader, you'll see that most have storylines as well with rarely a plotline overarching.

There's...dude smut?

I dunno, Ethan, four-hour dude smut binge shame spirals (say that five times fast) are fun and all, but wouldn't it have been a good idea to get in touch with Joyce's sister and draw up some battle plans?  Because I have a feeling a battalion of fundy Christian parents are about to descend on ISU pretty soon, and somebody needs to start preparing...
