It would appear that Walky is eternally damned to be surrounded by strong, assertive women that can kick his ass.

It's his curse

Would that I could be so cursed

Go for drowned Walky, it's less painful  ;)

Don't worry, he got her off his case with a tiny fraction of his giant slab o' problems! No drowning necessary! Just agonizing emotional issues!

If you ask me Walky crossed a dangerous line here. Before, he was just not telling Dorothy something. Now he lied to her.

Based on the experiences of his parallel universe self in the Walkyverse, learning that you cannot escape difficult things by refusing to speak about them is a harsh lesson that this Walky has yet to learn.

Sal hates everyone except for Marcie. In this particular case though, she seems more irritated than most by Malaya's personality.

It always seemed to me that she is indifferent towards pretty much everyone on campus (with the exception of her soft spot for Joyce), but she actively hates Malaya.

A combination of Malaya's abrasive confrontational attitude and the fact that she's "stealing" Marcie away from her.

While I'm sure that adds to her dislike of Malaya, Sal hated her when she had no clue that Marcie fancied her.

I do seem to remember that Malaya rubs pretty much everybody the wrong way? But yeah, some times there are people you just dislike... Not for any specific reason like 'she's stealing my best friend and doesn't even know it'. Sometimes it's just that their personality or habits rub you the wrong way or any of a number of reasons. Add in the fact that they're often hanging out together because of shared friends...

Sal and Malaya are just one of the sodium and water combinations of two personalities whose individual quirks and sharp edges inevitably conflict with and antagonise the other. That's not to say that Sal doesn't have a point - Malaya does make enemies easier than she does friends. That's also not to say that Malaya doesn't have a point - Sal has the irritating delusion that she's the voice of the silent majority.

When you consider, as Dina pointed out in yesterday's comic, all her texts have to go through Joyce, the possibilities for amusement get even greater.

Not a joke, I think. On a subtle level, I suspect that Walky is trying to make Sal think about just how silly she is by trying to play the 'friendless loner' and getting upset when people care about her. Of course, this comes across as a fraternal taunt because they're siblings.

I've got a horrible feeling that, somehow, Amber is going to misinterpret Danny's words as confirmation of all her worst fears about herself - That's she's worthless and a monster. I fear that she may go on a rampage thinking that she has no reason to even try to be a good person anymore.

Oh, it's not contrived. To Amber, Sal is practically Satan incarnate. The deeply rooted paranoid terror she has for Sal is possibly a stronger trigger ffor her episodes than Blaine is! A violent rampage that may turn Amazi-Girl into a villain is not impossible if she gets it into her head that Danny has 'betrayed' her by conspiring with her 'arch-foe'.

No, Danny doesn't know, and what's even more interesting is the fact that Sal has not recognised Amber as the girl who stabbed her in the hand all those years ago during the robbery she was done for.

To be fair, she was rather distracted  at the time. Add that to the fact that eyewitness testimony in general is highly unreliable.

Having personally experienced both arrest and being stabbed on separate occasions, I can attest that either is very distracting let alone both simultaneously.

To be honest, I'm not even sure Sal would recognize Amber as her stabber anyway. We didn't see the whole thing, but from what we know... Sal tried to rob the store Amber's friend worked at? Or they were at? And then Amber's dad goaded her to the point where she suddenly stabs Sal, who was rather busy being arrested at the time. Before the stab, Sal probably wasn't paying much attention to Amber... It seemed her attempted robbery wasn't exactly a well planned heist after all. And after being stabbed... Well it was pretty chaotic and the first thing the police would have done was separate the two, and probably got Sal to a doctor. All in all, it seems plausible that Sal has no idea it was Amber that stabbed her, and won't until someone brings it up.

Amber is... well being her borderline psychotic self. It makes me wonder how long Danny will put up with her randomly raging like that at him. At least from his perspective since he doesn't know Sal and Amber have history. I am still thinking if she doesn't get help soon, Amber is going to be doing something again that really gets someone hurt, and Sal or somebody won't be around to save her that time. Also... Saving your life is the second worse thing that's been done to you? I'm guessing she won't be making that mistake again then...

You do have to wonder if, from the perspective of a certain part of Amber's turbulent and disintegrating psyche, Sal did do her a disservice there. I wonder if dying at the moment of her greatest triumph - saving Becky - somehow appeals to Amber as a grand and positive end for her story? I suppose that would have prevented her from having to confront her continual mental collapse and somehow live with it.

As someone who also lives with a fairly severe mental illness, I can definitely understand her sentiment. There were times in the past when I resented loved ones for saving me. If the one who had saved me had been someone I already despised, I imagine it would be exponentially worse. Dying rather than having to face ones own damaged psyche certainly has it's appeal. Living out a "heroic sacrifice" would have been all that much more appealing for someone with Amber's condition and preferred media consumption.
