Actually, based on today's strip (9/11), more likely the fight music from the 1960s live-action Batman TV show, complete with loud trumpet blast to emphasise every blow. :-D

Sal to the rescue!

Hows that gonna affect Amazi-Girl/Ambers opinion of her

Or it just may be Sal needed to get out the frustration of missing out on her fight with her.

Actually, today's conversation/fight.... Fightversation? Has probably been more open communication between the two of them than ever before. And I'm wondering where this will take them.

I'm thinking a rooftop to hide out whilst the cops (and possibly the US Secret Service) are looking for them. Having not much else to do, they end up talking. Neither of them want to talk but their own emotional states and self-images just mean tha they can't keep silent. They have to have the last word and be the one who is right.

Of course, what they find out is that both of them are right and yet both of them are also wrong... depending on your point of view.

I'm really curious what "Not you. Never you." is supposed to mean. Because I'm pretty sure she hates Sal...or maybe Sal just reminds her of her own fear.

I think she's starting to realize it isn't Sal she hates, it's herself. I think having the crowd turn so vicious made her see what she was doing. Sal was, at most, a trigger. All the damage inside Amber was already done before Sal came into her life. Sal is just an easy target, she gives Amber a "safe" place to focus all her rage and pain externally.

I do hope that, as the two dudebros are counting their bruises, contusions and cuts, they remember how their ‘good friend’ Ryan ran away and left them to be pounded into a pulp by two women.

Meanwhile, I suspect that Ryan is about to learn why the most hated phrase in the modern English language is “Login Failed – User Name or Password Incorrect”.

Just like in real life. At least in the comic there is a chance he'll get beaten by a superhero. That never happens in real life.

Well I mean there are real life superheroes. They tend to take a... less energetic stance against crime than Amber does. Mostly helping out people and calling the police if they see crime taking place. Mostly. I'm sure some have stopped attempted/rape in progress. It's all to sadly common after all.

I'm not sure yet this qualifies as Ryan 'getting away'. At the very least there are going to be questions and accusations leveled against him. Without Joyce stepping forward it's unlikely anything will be done about the roofie incident. But he did just publicly threaten and attack Amazi-Girl, then steal her phone. And the picture of him has probably already been sent, so getting the phone won't do him much good.

Unless he figures out whose phone it is. Hopefully she has a separate account for Amazi-Girl and she didn't post that as Amber.

Today's strip (9/16) honestly makes me wonder if Amazi-Girl has some weird kind of anger-crush thing going on Sal. If she is, then their relationship and interactions are even weirder than I thought.

Is Marcie upset at Sal leaving her high and dry? Is it that she doesn't appreciate being left on clean-up duty whilst Sal vanishes into the night? Is she jealous at being treated the way she's been treating Sal over Malaya? Or, is she afraid that Sal is about to go tumbling back onto the path of vengeance and violence that it has taken all the time since elementary school to get her to step off?

I'm guessing she's pissed for having a row at the event she's supposed to be keeping secure. Sal is putting Marcie's job in jeopardy.

One of the posters on dumbingofage.com posted something like this, inspired by today's strip:

One is an Emotionally-Damaged
Abuse Survivor
With Anger-Management Issues and a
Secret Identity!

The other is a Too-Cool-For-School
Biker-Chick Rebel

With an ingrained distrust for
Authority!

Together, they
FIGHT CRIME!

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd read a strip with that premise!

New Strip - 9/19

Oh, really? Whoever that is was planning to run over Ryan as well as Amazi-Girl and Sal! I’m wondering if he is low man in a much larger and much more unpleasant pile upon which Amazi-Girl and Sal have just stumbled! Y'know, a 'brotherhood' of roofie-happy freshman rapists, one of whom has decided to silence another of their number who has been caught so as to prevent them all being exposed.

Driving directly at them at speed? I find that unlikely. The most generous interpretation is that he was trying to 'scare them' into letting Ryan go and chose the single most stupidly dangerous way of doing so.
