I think, at least, this is the end of Amazigirl for the simple fact that the secret's going to be out after this. Death, doubtful.

Technically it is a spoiler that Willis posted in a comment in a comic, but I think it may have already been mentioned in the thread anyway, so I guess I probably didn't need to put it in a spoiler tag.

A Willis spoiler is still a spoiler, so you're right to spoiler tag it.

I looked this time though because damn it. That being said, just because Willis says something it doesn't mean anything until it's in the comic itself, I guess.

Ross is clearly gone into a full psychotic episode here. The real danger now is that he may decide that Becky is 'irredeemable' and he'll try to kill her for 'betraying' him.

He has been pushed to serious crazy time rage. At least we know there are two police cars near by. The question is did anyone hang around long enough at the fountain to give a description of the car Ross was driving? Or point out that Amazi-Girl was chasing them to put two and two together. Seeing as how Joyce took off with Sal and are about the escalate the situation even further than it already is... Hopefully the gun is not somewhere he has easy access to. The police dispatcher by now certainly has enough information recorded to make an arrest on Ross. Hopefully some time in jail and seeing a therapist will help before he does something even more serious.

And maybe a Haloperidol drip for a good long while in a padded room.  I don't think that just a therapist would be enough for someone who has so thoroughly lost the plot.

I was hit by a car while skateboarding recently. It's amazing what you can shrug off in the moment, and how sturdy the human frame can be. It hurt like hell later due to bruising and swelling. Didn't break anything, though.

I'm really hoping that the events of today (in-universe) are the start of the healing for Amber. She needs to be able to escape her guilt and fear if she's ever going to have a hope of happiness. I also think that it says a lot about her heart that she "can't fail anybody".

Meanwhile, I'm reliably told that the driver of the red car is based on Willis's wife, Maggie!

As a request, can we please avoid talking about the next day's strips? Not all of us are Patreon supporters, and can't read into the future. I'm not spoiler adverse, obviously. But it took me a moment to realize that you were talking about the advance viewing and not speculating what might happen tomorrow.

I'd argue that there's different types of spoilers.

Spoiling things based on Willis's statements on Tumblr, in the DoA comments, or in Walkyverse comics is perfectly fine (in a spoiler tag I guess), IMO.

Patreon spoilers, however, are a huge dick move IMO, as they devalue Patreon for those that do pay for it to get early access. (I'm not personally a contributor to Patreon, partially because the early access is basically a one-time reward (one day ahead), and then stopping means you basically get a one-day penalty.)

I'm a little confused. Why would I spoiler speculation? I only use the spoiler tag for real actual spoilers.

If it's straight speculation, that should be grand. The issue is if it's based on Word of Willis or preview panels.

Some of the speculation of late has been around teaser images that Willis has posted on his Twitter account. The information is publicly available, but it was presented without context. So people have been speculating what this future event may mean and who it's going to affect. That's spoiler-worthy speculation.

Even if it's publicly available, it's still a spoiler. So talking about it without a spoiler tag is very rude. Basically keep your speculation to comics that have "aired," so to speak.

Hopefully Amber can keep herself and Becky safe until police and/or Sal and Joyce arrive. It's going to take some self-restraint on her part though and she's quite on edge right now.

Amber's current 'plan' is to flip the car onto its roof, possibly by attaching the grappler line to the re car and getting the driver to sharply swerve away. That's why she wants Becky to brace herself. Right now, this would most likely kill Ross outright. Of course it does seem that he wants to die defending his conception of an ideal family, mostly because death is easier than facing the consequences of his actions in front of the human authorities.

However, Amber doesn't deserve a life on he conscience. This is an ideal moment for Sal and Joyce to zoom up and for Joyce to 'yoink' the gun. Ross would then either be yanked out onto the blacktop (painful but non-fatal) by the fforce of a high-speed grab or get back in the car where he would be knocked out but be far less likely to be killed by Amber's plan.

He's thoroughly messed up, yes, but I doubt that he'd think that facing any non-human authorities that he happens to believe in is going to go much better for him.

See, that's the thing... As far as my reading of this storyline goes, he does think that he's doing god's work. The fact that it's his own twisted and narrow view of it doesn't enter into his mind as far as I can tell. In the space of a few weeks he's gone from 'loving but controlling and emotionally distant father' to 'Satan has a hold of my daughter and I'll kill anybody that tries to stop me fixing her'. He's gone off religious, past extremist and deep into fanatic territory here, if not outright delusional. But to him, what he is doing is the proper and only course of action, and he likely thinks he's the only sane person in this whole situation... as he climbs halfway out of the car he was driving while it's in motion to shoot a girl in costume trying to save the daughter he just kidnapped...

He's not in his right head, and he's looking at multiple felony charges. Even if Becky doesn't pursue kidnapping charges against him, and she probably won't, I can't count the number of other crime's he's committed in the last oh, half hour or so. Right now the best case scenario we are looking at is him spending a lot of time in the near future talking to the police, a lawyer and a psychologist... But he still thinks he's going to be bringing his daughter home to 'save' her from Satan.

The physics going on here make zero sense whatsoever.

A flat right front should cause the car to veer the OTHER direction. And, it won't just go sideways like that except on ice.

Wow! Amber is seriously prepared for situations like this! I actually think that she's got more than a half-way chance of making this 'costumed adventurer' thing work long-term... assuming that she doesn't get killed.

Now, assuming that he doesn't fall out and get knocked unconscious, the next phase will be Ross trying to take on Amber hand-to-hand. He might be strong but she's obviously got a lot of agility and skill. Even though she's injured, it will put him at a disadvantage. Add on top of that, Amber may not bother, depending on how close the cops are. She may just jump into the trees and vanish, leaving Becky to ask: "Where did that girl in a mask go?"

The physics going on here make zero sense whatsoever.

Physics are always subordinate to story and, mostly, subordinate to the rule of cool. In summary? Don't worry about it.

He's not in his right head, and he's looking at multiple felony charges. Even if Becky doesn't pursue kidnapping charges against him, and she probably won't, I can't count the number of other crime's he's committed in the last oh, half hour or so.

What would those be? Right now I can only count kidnapping (under threat of lethal force), the attempted murder or maybe attempted manslaughter we are witnessing right now, as well as several traffic-related infractions.
Was bringing a gun to a campus a felony per se?

I'm not sure but I believe that discharging a firearm in a public place without (legally) good reason is a felony in its own right.

That might be irrelevant, since they could all still end up going *splat*.  The big version of panel 4 (http://itswalky.tumblr.com/image/132317194267) is kinda evidence of that.

They are all going to die.
Well, that happens to everyone, sooner or later.

Does anyone else see the Raiders of the Lost Ark reference, or am I making that up?

Ha, yeah, it was clear as day. Replace snakes with dads and you've got Amber's line.
