Multiple options because everyone is allowed to have more than one cool game modding idea.

What about me? Hmm... I've got to say that Zebediah's post-apocalyptic fan-fiction has made me hunger for a Questionable Content/Fallout crossover. Marten Reed - They call him the Lone Wanderer. Come to think of it, I can also see Steve pulling off Courier Six from New Vegas!

I can also see The Sims working out (play QC and its characters your way). Okay, I admit to my inner child-geek here... the idea of Marten and Faye as rival Pokémon trainers appeals to me for some reason I don't quite understand. Naturally, this universe's Pintsize would be a dirty-minded Bulbasaur or something!

Feel free to vote 'other' and let us hear your own ideas!

Civilization: Everyone loses to the Vespavenger Empire, after the introduction of the Giant Death Robot.
Pokémon: PINTSIZE used EQUINE MOLESTATION. It's super effective!
Kerbal Space Program: The Ellicott-Chatham space station has blown up again. The only fatality was Jebediah. (He got better.)

One I actually forgot: The Elder Scrolls Series. As Jeph is an AD&D fan, why not have the characters in a sword & sorcery fighting fantasy world?

Pac Man, starring Pintsize, chasing porn.
Space Invader (germs), battled by Hannelore.
Asteroids (germs), battled by Hannelore.
Donkey Kong, in which Marten may or may not set and/or pursue a goal, facing obstacles that exist mainly in his mind.
Lunar Lander (Pizza Re-entry Vehicle)
Punch-out!, featuring the Robot Fight Club.

Can....can you hear us back there in the 1980s?

I want to see a survival horror in the vein of Amnesia, where Jeph has to complete a comic, all while trying to avoid WCDTs. The DLC can be Marten trying to get through the day and avoiding Pintsize and his shenanigans.

I wonder just how long Clinton has been meditating aloud about his situation vis Claire, unaware of Barry's unsettling stare or the passage of time? FWIW, the likelihood that he's going to stay overnight in Northampton and that something is going to happen as a result has increased significantly.

I agree with Jeph; that does look like a cuckoo clock!

Let's be honest here: If such a minor delay was going to make Clinton miss his bus, he was never going to make it in the first place.

My guess is that the bar is adjacent to the bus station. Bar Lady probably plans her day based on the bus schedule, given that she can see the comings and goings through the windows! We also don't know how long Clinton has been sitting there, musing aloud!

a) Why is Barry her gauge of "OK"ness?

Because anyone who can tolerate Barry's close presence has to be a nice person... or deeply unconscious!

Shouldn't we see at least a little of Barry's tattoo from this perspective? - I'd like to identify the motive --
I thought I could make out a dolphin (of course) in #3213 and something unidentifiable above it -
spout? bird?

Also: have we discussed already, if Barry's character is played for laughs in an uncomfortable way?
As of yet, I feel he is still written non-offendingly and sympathetic, but - does everybody see it that way?

It's possible that Jeph just failed to include a transition, but seeing as Bar Lady is doing something with the same mixer as she was last comic, and Clinton's glass hasn't moved and is just as full, it's unlikely.
Now, there WAS a very small transition between Thursday and Friday's comic, but if he missed his bus then, it seems weird that Bar Lady didn't say something sooner.

It's not strange at all. She is a busy woman with a bar full of customers to deal with. It isn't her problem if Clinton is so busy thinking about his relationship with Claire that he didn't watch the time when he's supposed to get his bus.

I... I just went back to reread the comic.
*She watches the bus drive away through the window* in the first few panels.

My point, though, was that if she saw the bus two comics ago, she would have said something two comics ago. It's a little moot now, though.

No, you notice when you finally see her in the second panel she's busily concentrating on mixing a drink and only notices the bus in the third panel when she turns around but by then though the bus is moving off.

Better to start the conversation with text, then move to a call or face to face conversation if needed.  As impersonal as texting is, unlike a phone, it isn't rudely demanding one's attention RIGHT FUCKING NOW![1]

Given how angry Clinton was when he and Claire last spoke, do you think Claire would want to suffer an ear-bashing? A text is safer in this instance, you can think about what you're going to say and not get flustered or step over your own toes.

Sooo, it kind of bothers me just how cis-adjacent Claire is. Like, she's fucking adorable, indistinguishable in entirety from a cis-woman, and her transition doesn't seem to have been aided by surgery at all thus far.

Like, yeah, some of us are that lucky, but most all positive portrayals of trans people in the media involve those who can represent themselves as cis, even if they aren't. It bugs me, a bit, even though I really like her character.

Also her piercings rock.

Text an apology?  If you were really sorry, you'd make a phone call.

So, you really read today's comic, and concluded from her obvious distress in the first panel, and Marten's suggestion in the fourth, that she is not really sorry? Is this what you are saying? If you are, may I see the link to the version of the comic you're looking at?

I think she's actually sorry, but I think a call would be better, or at the very least a text asking to talk.

Yes I agree, though I think a text asking to talk would be as good or better (arguably better). As others have argued. A call might not even be answered (as far as she knows).

Texting is Marten's idea.  He's the one phoning it in.

Nothing say "I'm sorry." like an apology tattoo...because you'll be sorry forever for getting it in the first place.

I'm kind of in favor of Jeph's third option, both. Tattooed Claire could be interesting and make for interesting strips

Based purely on her hair length, we can reasonably assume that she began her transition at least four years ago. (Assuming a growth rate of about half an inch per month.) If I recall, Jeph has said that he's not going to reveal how much (If any) surgery she's had, but I don't think it's implausible that she could have had some work done in that time. Unless I'm going mad, I do remember it being mentioned that she's taking (Or took,) some level of hormone something-or-another. Looking at Clinton, if he had long hair and had been taking estrogen for 4+ years, I think he'd be able to represent himself as a cis woman as well.

Your point about media portrayal is still fair, I just think it's justified in Claire's case.
(This is irrelevant, but I *did* notice that, from her first appearance in comic 2203, she's gotten *Significantly* more adorable. (At least, physically and in my personal opinion.) Chalk this up to Jeph not knowing how to draw her yet.

I love how Marten knows how to rein Claire in when she gets on a roll like that.

So, it seems to me that Claire generally has trouble working out how to be nice to Clinton. We already know that she has an excellent imagination (in evidence, I present the 'Cyberpunk Librarian' back when she got the septum piercing). However, she does seem to automatically jump to elaborate and complex solutions when simple ones would suffice.

Besides, she's an older sibling. She's got experience in tormenting Clinton, not doing nice things for him!

I really want Claire and Clinton to get matching tattoos.

You're kidding, right? Too many people mistake them for twins as it is; matching body art would just strengthen the illusion!

Also, is that a nightie?

Yup! Looks like she's staying over tonight!

I love how it shows Marten's character development. Claire is passionate and prone to flying off the handle, and Marten obviously has found that his calm personality is fine to use as the rock that grounds her and keeps her from flying off in wild directions.

He has become more accepting of his laid-backness, and as a result is actually showing a bit more assertiveness.

These two are good for each other. They play on each others' strengths very well.
