Comments on Melon's hair bring up are inevitable, so I'm back on this nonsense.

(I think her hair looks good up or down.)

EDIT: typo correction fix

I mean, if you were all that keen to play an office worker themed RPG, you could.... just start one? You don't need Roko to run it for you. Though you could also at least try asking her, too.

Now I'm hoping that Roko will start a 'Business & Bandwidth' game (my apologies for the lame name, best I could come up with at short notice). Also, I'm reminded of this very old comic - anyone else remember Pintsize playing 'Trolls & Flame-Wars'?

So digging this.

"Papers and Paychecks" was a classic D&D joke back in the 80s (the original joke of course had dungeon monsters playing it!); it's so lovely to see Jeph bringing a version of the joke to life--even if only briefly--here!

That hole in the ceiling has been there for quite a while now, hasn't it? Did Melon make it, or was it already there? Either way, the landlord's gonna be pissed...

Poll: I had to say "someone else" but only because I really can't see May as Sherlock.

Ah, so that was the pay-off. Melon not getting it is almost obligatory but Elliot and Clinton too? I suspect that Roko may have inadvertently stumbled across a 'target market' segment that she never knew existed!

So why is this hole still not fixed ?!?!? :?
Because it’s rented accommodation in America. If you report it to the landlord the bill gets added to your rent. Every month. Forever. And if you fix it yourself the landlord kicks you out then sues you.

For comic #4721...

1. I do hope that Clinton, Elliot, and Melon do get together to form a Play-group, this kind of scenario is one of the better ways how good Play-groups form.

2. While it is not strictly an "office workers RPG", there is something that is relevant for such a Campaign Setting...
 - a.) d20 Modern (2002-2008) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D20_Modern
 - b.) Short (Game) Summary - Published by the Wizards of the Coast (the current owners of the D&D franchise), d20 Modern is set within the modern "real" (note "quotations") world of Earth.  The d20 Modern Earth may incorporate fictional elements such as Fantasy, Paranormal, Sci-Fi, &/or Supernatural.  Core Classes are based upon the basic D&D stats (Strength Hero, Dexterity Hero, Intelligence Hero, Charisma Hero, etc.), with more thematic/specific Advanced Classes at higher levels.  Unless specifically built away from it, most Player Characters do work regular/mundane jobs for income.
 - c.) Game Technicals - d20 Modern's game-system is most accurately described as "3.25", published between D&D 3rd Edition and D&D 3.5 edition, with semi-evolved game-mechanics between the two D&D editions.

It's from an idea I can't quite get out of my head from when we saw May in that black sleeveless blouse and brown plaid skirt. The skirt's design was reminiscent of the plaid Holmes is often associated with.

EDIT: While Momo or Hanners (forgot to add her to the poll) would make an ideal Holmes stand-in in this case, I also raise you the pun of Momoarty.

Wait. Seriously?

Oof! Glad I rented in the Midwest mostly under fairly honest landlords. Though, that does explain some of the price hikes up in the KC area and some of the ones we had at the house with individually rented rooms and shared commons areas.

Elliot would be the Asok the Intern - The super-smart guy with a very weak personality whose warnings of doom are ignored despite his intelligence and high hit ration "because he's not got enough experience".

I suspect that it says a lot about Sam's off-screen past that Jim has had to put rules in place about notifying him of fatalities (probably more normally major injuries) as a result of Sam's adventures. I wonder how much of it is natural parental paranoia and how much of it is genuine awareness of just what Sam is like and her very low risk awareness!

Meanwhile, I wonder if we're ever going to meet Emmett's parents? I'm already visualising someone like Joyce Brown's parents in Joyce and Walky and its associated strips, less aggressive than their equivalents in Dumbing of Age but still a dramatic contrast from Jim and Veronica.

I think at least some of that may have to do with the fact tham Sam was hanging out with Emmett.

Could the various [ x ]coins would use that heat output to cook food or heat water to power a steam system? If so, that could mitigate some of the waste.

It would be interesting to meet them.
And, oof, imagine being left out of the loop in regards to a major accident and being asked to offer duggestions/dpeak on it some sort of parent meeting.

It is! You can call her anything you like, but her name is Veronica...

This confused the heck out of me ('I spelled her name right, didn't I?') until I decided to Google your second sentence  ;D

All they needed was a page on their website: Lifetime premium tickets: X sets of 2, bid here, pay with these payment options if you win. (Edit:) Rights transferable for any arrangement you wish to make with the other party.

Done and done, no need to involve NFTs or blockchain or Ticketmaster.

Chaos doesn't add or multiply; it's exponential.

Jim knows another force for chaos when he sees one. His concern is perhaps slightly overstated, but well-founded...

Global Moderator Comment Sorry, everyone. There was no really clean way to split the non-comic discussions so the WCDT is a bit ragged and incoherent. Blockchain/NFT/cryptocurrency debates are now over in DISCUSS.

Just so long as we don't call her Betty? I'd imagine that would've gotten old fast.

In Marigold's defence, she's probably feeling a bit weird because of her creamer type switch. I get why she's a little grumpy and snappy as her biochemical balance is probably a bit different today.
