Grumpy might be a default.  I can certainly identify with being grumpy on going to do something one doesn't enjoy - even though it has benefits.

I'm enjoying the recent run of showing friendship moments between different characters.

I understand why Marigold is being grumpy, but "I don't personally experience it" is not the same as "it isn't real".

Although to be fair, this attitude is pretty much in character for what I know of her.

Ah, the fabled "runner's high." Somebody once tried to convince me I would totally experience it if I kept at it long enough, but all I ever experienced was the "runner's painful breathing" and "runner's stabbing pain in one side."  :-D

I haven't gotten a 'runner's high' (yet), and I dislike running in general, but I do love the way I feel afterwards. Which is the only reason why I keep going with it. Not terribly far and not terribly fast, but at least it's something.

*looks at the poll*

Is there a Martin in this Webcomic ? I dont remember one ?

AFAIK there is definitely a runner high. Its why people can get addicted to running.

And salad is also definitely delicious.

Iris is blunt, up front, and doesn't toy around.  She and May need to meet/interact.

I'm just glad it's not another character who is Extremely Quirky and says and does Very Strange Things, but who is either super smart or occasionally says remarkably profound things.

The only character of this type in the comic that I liked was (strangely enough) Melon, and there have been a few.

I may be in the minority, but I have to say I'm weary of all the AI characters in the comic.

In the old days, there were precious few AIs, and they were not full on androids.  That allowed the comic to feel realistic, allowed me to invest in the setting because it felt like it COULD be reality.  With all the androids and AIs wandering around, it's really diminishing that capacity.  I miss the old days.

I know, I've no doubt there are many that will disagree, but I felt the need to offer my opinion.

Jeph faces an interesting challenge here. How to keep his AI characters human enough to be relatable to his audience while reminding us from time to time that they are -not- human.

I think we just discovered what Hanners is into.
Given Hanners relationship with her mom and all her other hangups about "dirt", she being a robosexual wouldn't surprise me at all, especially an AI that is direct and non-deferential like Iris.  We'll have to see where this goes.  Maybe Station will take a break from being an orbital outpost now that there is someone to keep tabs on Hanners Dad?  Hmmmm.

The current "history" of AI is inconsistent with the origins of the strip, and there are too many characters.

But Bubbles is so hot.

'a few automobiles seemed realistic, but *hundreds* of them?'

Feel what you feel, but I don't really understand how the -number- of a technology significantly changes the amount of realism.
