Or because it's Healthy (tm) it costs like four dollars more per box, and he thinks that's a scam and refuses to pay it even though there isn't a lower-priced similar product to buy instead.
That's why I hardly ever got to have Grape Nuts as a kid. They have no sugar and only four ingredients, but Post does not charge per ingredient. I don't even get to have them now because of a) shortages, currently, and b) adult me not being able to swing that price tag for a smaller than average box of cereal either.
And btw, if you think that eating Grape Nuts is basically like chewing gravel, you need to either heat it in the microwave for a minute or let them sit for something like 5-10. They soften up and their actual flavor comes out. I wouldn't like them either if I'd just poured some milk on them and crunched away.

Flondrix, I also super disapprove of the way HFCS is shoved into everything, for both public health reasons and because of how busted the whole system is with the corn subsidies that are the actual reason the stuff is in everything. I don't, however, think that bringing a generation of children up on artificial sweeteners would turn out well. Gyrre has mentioned just one big concern, and there are others. Also, sugar in general isn't the devil if you're not practically mainlining it like our nation is because of the bullshit corn subsidies. Anyway, there's no need for this "prove me wrong" business. I'm just a random person on the internet who is in favor of moderation and fixing a badly run system rather than stocking the shelves like humans are all ticking time bombs of Type 2 diabetes.
