If Faye was part of Mystery Inc. instead of Velma the mysteries would be solved much quicker.  Faye would simply punch the offending baddy right out of their cheesy disguise.

But would she be wearing the same miniskirt?

New art, old characters. Sometimes it works. Sometimes there's this.

I wish I could find the post on Tumblr, but Jeph say Faye was always meant to be "curvy", he just didn't used to know how to draw that.

Faye got fat.

Jeph's art got better.  Less stick-figurish, heads more proportional, etc.

Here's the challenge: Anyone on here want to try a "guest strip" for Jeph?

It would be interesting to show some early QC panels and some late QC panels to someone totall unfamiliar with the strip and see if they would recognise it as being the same artist.  Of course you'd probably have to strip out the dialogue to make it a fair test, as seeing the names would be a pretty good clue.

Just designed and built this bad boy. He's just a prototype, I'm going to change the color and smoothness of the limbs, and make him lifesize. How big do you suppose he is supposed to be anyway? I was thinking maybe around 18" but it's hard to tell. It doesn't appear from the strip that his torso is the size of a normal computer tower.

From everything I've been able to tell, FirstGen AnthroPC chassis were about two to three feet (maybe 60 cm to a meter) high. Jeph hasn't drawn anything to definitive scale, but my general impression is that they're probably about the size of your average domestic house cat.

I believe construction bricks are a standardized size, so you could look up the strip where the AnthroPCs are throwing them and get out the tape measure.

Latin Humor

Bricks are usually around 2"x4"x8", and it looks like Pintsize is about three bricks "tall" (longest length), which is 3 x 8" = 24" = Two feet tall.

According to that page, the standard "house brick" size in the United States is 8 × 4 × 2¼ inches.

I never wasn't positive it might not be a mini-CD/DVD drive ala Gamecube. But I guess it makes the most sense to assume that he is atleast the size of a regular CD/DVD/Bluray from front to back since that's his shortest measurement. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Indeed!  A nice little time capsule there.

I never did read any of the "Penny is an atheist" thread, it both grew too fast, and I have issues with the issues anyway.  I do take exception to the notion that getting involved with philosophy majors will make you an atheist, but it's also pretty clear that a) it's second (or third, or fourth) hand info, and b) it's probably being grossly oversimplified, the way other people's lives often are.  But still, a nice, tight well-written narrative.

I've had an idea bobbling around for the last few days since the fanfic topic came up, we'll see if I have any time to write it down...

OK, so my daughter sat on a broken pin with no head.  It's embedded in her flank.  She and her mother spent the night at the emergency room, and I couldn't sleep, so instead I wrote.

I've never written fiction before.  I know you guys are a kindly bunch (well, mostly...) so here, and I hope it's not too terrible.

Nice story. I'm curious as to where Faye went; I can totally see her disappearing without a trace after something like that.

Thanks, the x-rays show it's definitely a pin in her buttock.  Surgery tomorrow morning to have it removed.

My thought was that Faye would react to this about as well as she had to her father, and ran like hell.  That does  leave Angus in the lurch.  Fact is, it was written between 10 PM and 3 AM, and I was just trying to streamline things a bit...

Edit:  I coulda swore you said you couldn't  see her running like that.  Need sleeeeep.  Too old for the all-nighters anymore...

Before I had uploaded that story to Scribd, I thought I had a version I'd already completed. But, when I came upon the story that was posted earlier, I thought I had lost the "original" version that I had written.

Then, last night, I found the completed version on another drive. (insert facepalm smiley here)

So, here's the "original" version of the story: Questionable Sabbath (Older Version)

I went back through it, comparing the two documents, and noted the differences with a different font. I actually like how the older version went better than the one I posted here earlier.
