Who watches it? If anyone's been keeping track, you know about the lottery numbers. Well, I was looking around and I found this theory. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sh/47743274/ GPS Coordinates! And apparently each number matches the characters' seat numbers. One of the commenters posts a link to a Red Sox pic, which I am not sure if it is real or not.

Anyway, pretty exciting stuff!

Well, I don't follow Lost, but the Red Sox pic isn't real. If those are supposed to be the retired numbers of Red Sox players, it is wrong - for instance, number 9 (Ted Williams) is retired.

Er, just saying.

I'm now pretty convinced that there really isn't a huge over lying storyline and that the writers are totally making this shit up the day before they start filming. Seriously. I can just picture it....

(Here be SPOILERS)
Writer 1: Ok, so what's in the hole thing?
Writer 2: I dunno, some random guy. Let's just throw him in the episode, and have never mentioned him previously.
Writer 1: Oh hey, let's throw in something we've mentioned before just to fuck with our audience!
Writer 2: BRILLIANT!!
Writer 1: Now let's make out!
Writer 2: Mmmmmmm

I think this one has been thought out since if you look at where the supposed GPS coordinates are, and then you go to http://www.oceanic-airlines.com/ , you'll notice that some words appear between the bold words in the yellow box, which say, "I survived a horrific plane crash and am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents."

Which is where the star is!

I just hope they don't reveal too much too fast.

Actually, a couple of coworkers were discussing thier various theories on Lost, and I seemed to have formed one of my own. Now keep in mind I haven't watch all that much of the show, so this is just kind of a shot in the dark...

The island, somehow, allows people to manifest things with thier minds. The polar bear. Walt appears all wet and then disappears. The bunker. Desmond in the bunker. All things people could have been thinking about, and thus, they appear on the island.

The numbers. Ok, so the big fat guy thinks these numbers are cursed, so the numbers begin appearing on the island. It may seem like a conspiracy or fate or something, when in reality, they are simply there because he is thinking about them.

But, again, as I've said, I haven't watched it all that much, so I may be missing something.

If you highlight the text carefully on the Oceanic website, then copy and paste it into a file there is more. There is actually a picture (click here to see) and another little "note" that reads:

If anyone should find this message, please get word I'm alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they're getting worse...

Sally

I missed the last episode and will probably miss the one tomorrow, grrrrrr. I am kind of "lost" (sorry, bad pun) on what is going on.

SPOILERS AND SHIT I GUESS MAYBE.

Oh man, there is literally tons of shit on that website if you can be assed to find it all. I couldn't.
So this series we get dude in hole and also that woman Jack talked to at the airport bar in series one's last episode. For the fact fans among us, she was sitting at the very back of the plane. It would seem to safe to assume that if the she is gonna turn up, the back section of plane will also drop by for a chat. Thus, shit will go off.

Also, anyone who's watching Lost in the UK (on the TV this is, I'm in the UK, but I have the decency to download it) is in so much trouble, spoiler wise.

I, like milkmanDan, am a UK fan who d/l's because i'm too impatient. And this series is kicking off awesome.

Also, for those trying to formulate theories about what's going on, don't try to hard. The writers have already said in interviews they haven't decided where they're going with it yet, and they also don't know what happens at the end.

Oh. Ok. Well, I guess my previous guess that they're making this shit up as they go along was pretty close to right. Doesn't that kinda take the fun out of it though? Why bother watching when you know just about everything they're throwing in there is really just to fuck with your head and doesn't mean anything?

Screw You JJ Abrahms. Screw you.

I'm just watching it because I want them to throw in crazy shit to mess with my head. If the writers are good enough to drop crazy stuff in and make it all work, then all is good. Of course, if random stuff happens that makes no sense and doesn't go anywhere (or just flat out contadicts stuff that's happened before) then it's gonna get lame. Let's just hope the writers are good enough, eh?

Maybe what i said before was a bit poorly worded. The way i took the article i read was, what they've put in so far (the numbers, the unexplained clues etc. ) have an immediate purpose. they have answers and such for that and are going in a certain direction. But it's not the case as with the harry potter arc where the last chapter or whatever was aleady written and decided upon. It's not set in stone, but they aren't just making stuff up as they go.

I have my own theory. I'm hoping that the very last episode we will see Jack waking up in the departure lounge.... and it was all a dream....

That's the only way to explain how perfect Jack is.

i think the ending would be with everyone dead.
and not a dream, because waking up with a dream is always a shortcut and upsetting to watch.
i wonder how many seasons they'll have.

I watched the finale drunk/depressed. BAD IDEA. I was really pissed off with the ending. OK here's my theory for lost I'm probably going to be wrong and I haven't seen any of the second season but here I go:
Everyone landing on the island is a culmination of several things. The Hanzo foundation's futzing around with stuff they shouldn't have http://www.thehansofoundation.org/activeproject.html Hurley's unlucky numbers Jack's dad haunting him Claire's baby and the creepy psychic dude, and I believe the others had a hand in it. although I think the others had a hand in everything, If I lose my sammitch I blame the others. I think that in the second season when hurley tells everyone else about the numbers they'll realise that they'v been popping up in their lives too. Is any of this right? Probably not, but it's still fun to speculate.

My theory is that the entire series is just one really, really long episode of the X-Files.

if that's true, that's be pretty awesome.
but it seems as though everything is interrelated in an odd way.
like sawyer and jack's father.
i'm sure there are other ones that we'll learn about later.

yeah the 2nd season isn't showing in australia yet.

NO.

Charlie does not die.

But within the next 4 episodes, Shannon will.

THEORIES me and my hombre Weylen have devised:

1) Walt is psychic.

2) The island is controlled by a force that attracts the people it needs to stay alive onto it.

3) Its ultimate goal was to obtain a psychic. We don't know why.

4) Yes, the numbers are special. They bind the universe somehow or another.

Other fun stuff:

There is an electro-magnetic plane that covers the earth. It is cut up into tiny sections. Area number 108 is over the middle of the Pacific ocean, and its opposite is Nigeria.

The airplane toy that Kate wanted was in box 815 at the bank.

They never said the black dude at the other camp is from the tail section of the plane. He is probably a Nigerian.

Theory I (and several others) have devised: nobody working on that show has a fucking clue what's happening and where it's going, so as a fail-safe option they've reverted to jerking the audience around in the hope that they'll feel tantalised and intrigued rather than manipulated and frustrated.

You know, they'd get more viewers if they jerked them off instead.
I mean, I can't stand the show, but I'd watch it for a hand job.

No, there's no way they could've gotten this far and kept it interesting without some sort of structure.

apparently shannon and sayid have sex on the island. 100% nudity (or close).
or maybe it's already been shown in the US and i'm here in australia waiting for the second season to begin, and watch jack kill charlie.

I'm currently on Series 2, and I'm pleased say that this thread contains a roughly equal number of lies and spoilers. Thus, you don't know which are which, and nothing is actually spoiled. In this spirit, I can exclusivly reveal that in Series 2, the viewers do indeed receive handjobs. But only if your TV is HDTV compatible. Also, the hatch leads to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. I think it's a pun on the whole 'character called Charlie' thing, but instead of a Golden ticket, he finds a plane full of heroin.
