Uhm, any reason why you feel the need to apologize for what may very well be one of the most important bands in history?

And no, that is not a matter of opinion. Whether you like or dislike the Beatles, they were freaking important. This is not debateable. It was fact. They changed music forever. Most of what we have today would not even exist if it were not for them.

But the point of apologizing is saying "I'm sorry for this, it shouldn't have happened". Dude the Beatles were fucking NESSESARY. Apologies just do not even work in this situation.

I'm sorry for being an anal retentive bitch, I just cannot even comprehend this situation right now.

its funny that people always blow up at me when they discover my hatred.

trollstormur hit the nail on the head.
and its not just the music but the whole culture behind it.

Sounds about right?

A girl who likes 1349? ZOMG MARRY ME AND HAVE METAL BABIES. </stereotypical reaction>

Still, metal babies.

"Is he crying?"

"No, but he's throwing the horns!"

Anyway, why do you have a statue of Ellen Mcarthur? She lives on my island, dammit!

being from California, i would like to apologize for the monster of mediocre rock music that Green Day has become, as well as Goldfinger, Finch, Avenged Sevenfold, Weezer's last three albums, Korn, Linkin Park, etc.  however, i think The Aquabats, Jawbreaker, Mike Park, Jets to Brazil, Agent Orange, The Adolescents, Descendents, Throw Rag, Del tha Funky Homosapien and a bunch of other bands/artists i'm sure i'm forgetting do/did their part in helping to heal the wounds.

and while we're on the subject, i'd like to thank the country of Canada for providing The Weakerthans, The Planet Smashers, and Chris Murray.

You, lovely gentleman, now have my heart! Big ups for mentioning Mike Park, big ups. I totally forgot to mention The Weakerthans in my list though. Also, CHRIS MURRAY'S FROM CANADA?

On the behalf of the city of Bradford, i would like to apologise for gareth gates. On the positive side, a friend of mine knows a girl that used to beat him up in school. So we can pretend that was some VERY proactive justice.

I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but you gotta give the props for Sgt. Peppers and the White Album.  Amazing, and the latter gave us the Gray Album, so...

I'd like to give shoutouts to Britain.  Autechre, Leftfield, Photek, Mclusky...can you do no wrong?

Wait, don't answer that.

Also, Yugoslavia gets further Kudos for Laibach.  "Tanz Mit Laibach."  Really, I don't need to say much more.

I doubt any of you would know any of the dire New Zealand bands that we've produced, but I apologise for the television show "popstars" which some kiwi mastermind came up with. "popstars" begat "Your country here Idol", so yeah. I'm sorry.

If any of you have had the pleasure of listening to any bands on the Flying Nun label you will probably forgive us tho. The Clean, The Bats, The Verlaines, 3Ds etc FTW!

Well... I'll try and concentrate on Quebec since the rest [of Canada] is being pretty well covered...
I'm sorry for
Celine Dion, Jonas, Simple Plan and I'm sure many many others

At least we provided... erm... did anything good we did ever get out of here?
I'd say La Bottine Souriante (traditional folk) is pretty darn excellent..
And Cryptopsy if you're into that kind of stuff..

jeez, what DID get known (good and/or bad) from Quebec?

Well, I'm not sure if I should be representing my new home of Scotland, or my old home of England.
If Scotland, I offer Mogwai, Boards Of Canada and Bify Clyro. I apologise for Franz Ferdinand, and probobly alot of other things.

England is a rather larger affair, so I'll work with genres. Sorry about Brit-pop, both the Oasis / Blur time (except for Pulp), and the new crap (Kaiser Cheifs, The Dull No-One Cares, etc). I'm also deeply sorry for Garage.
On the plus side, we gave you Drum n Bass, IDM, Grime, Dubstep and Post-rock (Well, we came up with the word, anyway).

I'd like to ask for forgiveness since Canada begat Nickleback and everyone associated with them (Default, Theory of a Dead Man).

In return, we give you Islands and Stompin' Tom Connors.

Edit: I checked on AMG, and apparently South Africa is to blame for Dave Matthews. They also brought Manfred Mann into this world, so I'm not sure where they stand.

I'd like to apologies for Max Martin, the guy who wrote pretty much every song for Backstreet Boys and Brittney Spears. And also for Roxette (actually, I apologise for everthing that Per Gessle has done, but I guess Roxette is the only one of his bands that any forigner have to suffer trough).

uh, and I'm also very, very sorry that the creator of "crazy frog" happens to be Swedish, but he actually already apologised to the world himself, so I guess I don't have to do that.

But on the bright side, we do have bands such as Perishers, David & the Citizens, Soundtrack of our lives, Dungen, Bad Qash Quartet, Tiger Lou, Bob Hund and The Ark.. and Abba, of course. Altough I feel I should apologies for them too sometimes.

I would like to apologise for such horrid Canadian acts as: Sloan, The Tragically Hip, Bryan Adams, Brian Mulroney, Alanis Morrissette, Great Big Sea, The Barenaked Ladies, 54/40 and Canadian Idol. All that stupid stuff.

But, in Canada's defense: The Constantines, Moneen, The Unicorns, Sea Snakes, the Hidden Cameras, Neil Young (!), Joni Mitchell, The Weakerthans, Wolf Parade, Fembots, You Say Party! We say Die! and every incarnation of AC Newman's amazing songwriting.

Oh, I forgot to apologise for the big one: Billy Talent. I am sooo sorry. Can you ever forgive us?

ew, i just remembered ben mulroney. how frightening.

Simple Plan, Nickelback and the ilks of both are things I am terribly sorry for. Everyone else on the UK Singles Jukebox has duly noted them as part of my cultural heritage, giving me my only reason for seppuku thus far.

However, we pretty much invented the indie rock collective. Also, Death From Above 1979. And Sloan. And Moneen. And locally, we gave you Despistado. Now we give you Sylvie.

Wait, that's a band?  I thought it was just the coolest early 90's cult shareware EGA space invaders clone ever.

I believe the UK produced the entire genre of trip-hop...the gestalt of The Sneaker Pimps + Portishead is enough to wash away many, many sins.

about 80 posts, half of them canadian it seem, and none of you have mentioned the sheer life-changing gift that is Leonard Cohen. tsk tsk tsk

having said that, romania has offered nothing to the international music scene, so I have no prezzies nor any apologies for you.

And before you start moaning, 2 things: o-zone are moldovan and the cheeky girls are a product of british manufacture who have not even made it in romania (and if you knew the bredth of shit on the airwaves there, that's saying something)

also, i should probably say something about britain cause i've lived here for most my life, but i won't cause it's already been coved sufficely and pretty well - one or two minor qualms aside.
