E. Spaceman:

--- Quote from: Spinless ---I'd rather Belle and Sebastian coverred the entire thin lizzy back catalog than here that awful metallica cover again...

--- End quote ---

Read the small text.

Kai:
I'm pretty sure Oberst had a Christmas album and totally covered Silent Night.

Storm Rider:
I hate to break it to you, but...

I've had the misfortune of hearing it, not to mention they made a video where the band had a TOTALLY RAD house partay with liquor and breaking stuff and GIRLS MAKING OUT WOO!1

KharBevNor:
What's so bad about Metallicas cover of Whiskey in a Jar? It's not as good as the original, or a good cover in the sense of trying to do something new with the song, but it's not like it's grade-a rape or anything. It's better than pretty much everything metallica have written themselves for at least a decade. That video sounds pretty retarded though.

Also, Whiskey in the Jar is a folk song, so Metallica didn't really cover it from Thin Lizzy, except for using the same version of the words that they did.

nescience:
Heh.  I think I have another guilty pleasure: I actually kinda liked their "Whisky in the Jar" when it came out.
