create the worst possible tribute album you can think of!

Storm Rider:
It's not that bad, but somebody mentioned Metallica covering Thin Lizzy, which I remembered had been already done.

And tell me that the Edge of Sanity tribute isn't real. Please.

Bastardous Bassist:
The party in the video for "Whiskey in the Jar" is pretty rad, but I don't see how it has anything to do with the song.  Of course, I'll kind of forgive it, because it didn't suck so hard as a number of songs on that album, plus it's not really a Thin Lizzy song.  It's just that Thin Lizzy did that version of it.

--- Quote from: jcknbl ---I was at tower records tonight and was freaking out at the tribute albums they had. Vitamin Records keeps putting out these String Quartet tributes... to a whole lot of artists including really good ones. The thing is, they basically just make a tribute album for any artist thats put out an album. Thus, I did indeed see tribute albums to: Yellowcard, Hubastank, Nickleback, Hawthorne Heights, Jessica Simpson (huh?), Limp Bizkit, and wait for it... wait for it... OH, YOU KNOW ITS COMING... Creed.

After reading this, I got up to go to the bathroom, then it just hit me.  The full import of how awful that idea is added to the fact that IT ACTUALLY EXISTS!  I started wimpering, and praying for the souls of the musicians on those albums.  Though, I'd do one of those albums in a second.  I bet they made pretty good money.

onewheelwizzard:

--- Quote from: Laffy ---Kyuus being covered by 10 different nu-metal artists. Not feasible, but scary as fuck. The songs would be scarred for life.

There is a tribute album to Kyuss out, in fact.  It's called "Listen Without Distraction" and it's all done by South American stoner-rock bands.  I have the cover of "Asteroid," which is by a band called Poseidotica that I rather enjoy, and the cover's pretty well done.

amok:
James Blunt: a tribute to Bob Dylan.

:)

Thrillho:

--- Quote from: Storm Rider ---I hate to break it to you, but...

I've had the misfortune of hearing it, not to mention they made a video where the band had a TOTALLY RAD house partay with liquor and breaking stuff and GIRLS MAKING OUT WOO!1
--- End quote ---

Urgh, their version of Loverman is complete sacrilege.

Oddly enough, Nick Cave's is heavier, somehow.
