You know, Walk is pretty much the easiest Pantera (or maybe even the easiest metal) song ever. That's the reason why terrible bands (such as Disturbed and Trivium) always play it "in tribute."
As for Disturbed, they're just nu/alternative metal*, meaning they have few metal influences, but are mainly just a rock band. Guitar solos≠metal.
*neither nu- or alternative metal are real metal sub-genres, they're rather just light descriptions, as many nu- and/or alternative metal bands can sound very different from one another. There's always a main genre that the band falls under, which is usually rock.
